They are both factory 2002 ***** for my 2002 I35 and I will be swapping out the leather one for the wood one I bought. How do I get off the old one? Thanks for your help! I am heading to my brothers house this weekend and want to show him the new ****, so agian any and all help is appreciated, Matt D

It is an automatic with little slots in it but not threads....you mean the whole **** just unscrew in a counter clockways fashion?, will this strip the vertical grooves? Thanks again for your help, Matt

What do you mean by slots? If it is what I think you mean it has 2 slots directly across from each other and if you can picture it with the handle off it looks just like a nissan emblem, in shape. If this is what you mean than, yes just turn counter clockwise.

You guys are confusing manual vs. automatic. Manual is a b*tch to remove (gotta unscrew it), automatic I think pulls right off...

Those that say 02-03 automatic ***** just screw off are correct, and mine isn't even on that tight.
Was thinkin about getting a MOMO or something to repalce stock, looks like any of the ones for manual will thread right on.

Cool thanks for the post glad to know it'll work.
Is it just a simple unscrew stock srew on momo?
Nissan knew people were going to repalce them
so they made it easy for us!!

Unscrew stock. Then momo comes with 3-4 different plastic couplers that size up to there shifter and stem of shifter of our cars. Take the coupler thats as close to being as snug, insert it in shift **** then just slide it over the shifter stem in car then take the little allen bolt momo provides and screw it into shift ****. Then enjoy!
