just wondering what is better:

Power slot rotors with Hawk brake pads

or Stillen drilled rotors with Matrix brake pads

thanks

I was wondering the same thing. I've been looking at both also. Has anyone had any of these brake sets?

I have exactly the stillen drilled and matrix pads on front. I don't know if I can recommend these because of the warping trouble I've had with them. Braking power is AWESOME, I love that part. Just realized I do have 80K on the front rotors now, I guess maybe that's not too bad

I've heard some good stuff about Hawk... If u get enough people to say that combination doesn't warp, I'd go with it.

i had the stillen w/matrix brake pads. the stillen rotors warped big time after about five thousand miles! i went with power slot rotors with matrix brake pads, put 8 thousand miles so far and no warping!

Yes they stop much much better, I do love the performance. Just have to be real careful to avoid warping. Bug thing is to make sure to clean the surface of your wheel hub before installing the new rotors. I did not sand the rust off mine so it didn't start out with a flush/level mounting place.

No pics now, you can see the pics on Stillen's site.

I have powerslots all around with hawk front pads and axxis rears....they stop, but they squeal and they've squealed for over 2k miles now, so its not a break-in issue...

Im convinced these pads are **** and I shall switch with raybestors QS prolly

Iwas going to put hawk pads on with brembo cross drilled and sloted rotors.....I was gonna use all new stuff....Do you think that it would be better going with stock pads? My stock rotors are shot but the pads maybe have 5000 on them, and I HATE the brake squeak, do you think it would be better just to stick with stock pads?

OEM pads might be a viable solution...mine never squealed...my rotors were warped

people were saying they were good pads? http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=281214 I will put these on any kind of rotor since they are soft like OEM pad (less noise). they are carbon pads.

Then should I keep my stock pads since they are almsot new? YOu said they were like OEM pads, I have 5000 mile old oem pads...Should I just keep thm until they are shot???How do OEM pads perform on x drilled slotted rotors.....I thought hawk made goo stuff.....they put howk on a lot of performance cars...Just gimme some advice on what to do with these things.....Im going crazy with all these pads......

so i guess both of these set ups are not really a good choice as a brake upgrade then?

I sad they are like stock pad in terms of noise level(very quiet) they perfrom 10X better than stock pads( lesser brake fade, and dust, last a very long time. http://www.porterfield-brakes.com/pads.html some reviews
http://www.myroadster.net/testimonials_results.asp
hawk are great pad for stoping, but they make too much noise. because they use really hard compound ( not rotor frendly) . porterfield are very rotor friendly and prevent the rotor from warping. I would just use up the stuff you have and buy nicer stuff. also you can use these pad on cross drill or slotted rotors.
