New ecu from techno square...
2000/2001 FYI: autos are limited electronically, manuals are limited by our crap aerodynamics.

I think 2k se's were limited to 130mph to match the H speed rating of the OEM tires.

I believe the manuals have the same electronic limiter as the auto. At least my 92 SE did. It was a 5 speed. I read somewhere that the 02 6 speed topped at 137 mph and the auto at 130 mph.

Well..........the part about the 2K auto SEs being electronically limited is true, but that hasn't stopped someone I know personally to have exceeded 130-135 several times and on one occassion over 140 with a very slight downgrade......

You have to take speedo error into account also. I know that my speedo is clocked by those radar signs about 2mph lower than my dash reading. At 60 on the dash, I'm doing 58 by the radar.

My friend has taken speedo error into account, which increases at higher speeds........and his car kept pulling (ever so slowly) past the indicated 140 mark; electronic limiter be damned

I don't think I trust myself to go over 100. I've taken that fast only once. that was on I-295 around Richmond. Funny thing is, it didn't feel ike 100mph. You definitely get a rush...

There are no stupid question, except maybe this one No your car doesnt really have one. The GXE does, the SE should top out around 140-150ish

Here is another stupid question: is there a cutoff for the engine revs? I was racing a Supra once and shifted a little late. I could have sworn the engine was cutoff when the car redlined. I was really scared that I messed up my engine but it has been OK since. Maybe thats why my catalytic converter went bad.

Any thoughts?

if you have a 2000 like mine, you should have a rev limiter that kicks in at about 6600 rpms or so....have bounced of it many a time.

Sounds like a rev limiter. That's what will save your engine if you stay in the redline too long. I had one on my 92 SE 5 speed.

i had an 02 gle and i never topped out.traffic stopped me from ever going over 137 not the car.my 03 auto se has been to 136 137 same story not enough road to reach a limit !working 4 to midnight has a few good points like no traffic jams on the way home!

my 2k1 auto went up to 127 mph

the car i have now the fastest i've taken it is only 100mph. Hitting the rev limiter feels like you ran into a wall of air for a split second

top speed of the 2002 and 2003 6 speed is 145 mph...

I've made it to 142, was still accelearating, but started to run out of room on the errrr....race track...yeah.

oh yeah, all you guys saying its not 110...

that guy had a GXE, and the GXE gets downgraded tires, and Nissan probably had to limit the speed because the tires could not handle anything over 110.

I took my 01 to 136. There it stopped because of a limiter. The 02 i only got to 130 when i read a long time ago how someone took his to 147 and thats calculated with GPS. 6sp should reach 150 easily if they dont have any governer limiters
