2003 SE 6speed performance specs???

My father and I found a 2003 6 speed maxima for sale at a local dealership and I have been searching for performance specs and tests/reviews on them on the internet. All I have been able to find are used prices and general specs, and my searching ability on this site is temporarily awol (I have no clue why!?). Could anyone help me out?

Its a beautiful; max, and we are 99% sure it will be ours on Friday ! Having owned a pathfinder, xterra, and 300zx (z32 NA), this nissan seems like it will be our nicest and fastest yet

they are 255hp spec. it will dyno about 215-220 to the wheels. if you are a good driver, you will hit low 14s quarter mile. 0-60 is 5.7-6.0.

Nice. ~250whp possible with ECU, CAI, Cat Back, and Ypipe?

Also, how would I visually confirm that it has an LSD? I am pretty sure it is equipped with the titanium package judging by the metallic silver dash bezel and polished wheels, but I would like to see if it has one regardless. I asked the salesman I am talking with whether it had one and he replied "No, this is a fwd car . ANyhoo, thanks for the help. Awesome forum !

It has 28,500 miles and we are probably getting it for 19,500.

6speed
Black Leather
Bose Premium CD
Titanium Package
and 30% Black Tint

It is a Pewter type color.

Also, if anyone could run the VIN for me it would be fantastic!

It is as follows: JN1DA31A43T419496

Thanks again!

Bobby you will love that car, I still think the 02/03 Maxima are the most fun Maximas to date. You can tell people drive their Maxima judgingby all of these 02/03's with high mileage.

watch out for 3rd gear!

but I think 19,500 is a little high. I tried trading mine in, and I've been offered $15,000 for it...

that's about a $4,500 markup!

I have 6 speed, HLSD, Titanium Package, black with black leather, BOSE, well, everything but the NAV system...

I'd get a check from your bank for $17,500, and walk in there with it, and tell them it's that or nothing. $19,500 is a bit pricey. oh yeah, when they offered me $15,000, I only had 25000 miles on the odometer, I now have 27400 miles...

so that might help you negotiate a good price.

3rd gear is known for synchro problems? I think either way I wil be running full redline synthetics through the drivetrain within a month of owning it.

Thanks for the insight man. We will not go easy as far as the price goes, but if we have to pay 18k+$ than so be it. It took me about a month to track down a max that is optioned as well or as clean as this one.

Hopefully we can yank the dumbass dealer down to 17.5-18 k area...

if you have time, check out msn.com and go to the auto section, look for reviews for the Max. Then go to Edmunds.com and Autobytel.com for more reviews. If you can knock off a couple thousand from the dealer, you will do alright. But also look what your getting for under 20K, one helluva car!!!!!!!

2002/2003 6spd Maxima's are sooo rare that dealers know to price them high.... It took me months to find a good deal on a 2002 6spd. That car is the sh*t. I wish it was all-wheel drive thought, and had a turbo option and it would be perfect...I would sell my car for 18,500. It has everything except leather. But is has Bose. It is in perfect condition. I only drive it to work which is 1.5 miles away....

I just got 03'd up for 15K flat, it's an auto (had to because of wifey) but it doesn't have Nav. I still have a 100k warranty, with spoiler, SE package, titanium guages and shifter housing, cd, steering wheel mounted controls, Power/Tilt Roof, 17" sport wheels it only had 28K on the odo, it is very clean and looks showroom new. The owner's wife drove it around.

I'm satisfied with the car and for the price, I just couldn't let it pass me by, now I have the 03 and the 00 Maximas.

17.5 would be unrealistic by me. But it should be a great car and sounds like it has every option Id want. Hope it goes well for you.

This is my exact car! (okay, except for color) I just purchased my '03 back in October with 29k. They were asking 22,700 and I got it for 19k even. Talk 'em down. Here was the shocker about mine: It had been on the lot for almost 90 days and was about to go to auction. This really helped in negotiation so be sure to ask how long this one's been on the lot - if they'll tell you. You'll love this purchase. I haven't regretted my decision once.

I originally thought $19,500 was to high mainly because they only paid $15,000 for it...tops.

When I tried to trade mine in they said that because it was a manual transmission, that there was less of a demand (think of most people, not the enthusiast) and for that reason it was to bring about a grand less than an automatic. (I call b.s.)

I don't think Nissans should lose their value as fast as they do, but the fact is they do.

Yes, it's a lot of car and a great buy for $19,500, but if you are willing to travel to buy, you might find one on ebay or autotrader with less miles and save enough to fly out and pick it up...drive it home...

could be a fun road trip home to get used to your new found love.

check out autotrader. I searched all of America for a 2003 6 speed:

http://www.autotrader.com/findacar/r...=used&x=32&y=8

the distance shown is from Kansas City...could be closer to you if you refine you search..but there is a cloth 2003 Maxima 6 speed with only 10k miles for 18,995...

it actually looks like $19,500 or $19,000 might not be all that bad...considering there are only seven 6 speeds listed on all of autotrader..

good luck and enjoy
