Performed few maintenance...BIG difference!

Today is my day off so I worked on few things in my car.

First, I changed the manual transmission fluid. Amazing! There were shreds of metal inside the dirty, smelly oil! I used Redline MT-90 and it is smooth!

Second, changed my PCV valve. At 80,000, I don't think it was ever changed. No rattle. It was broken. My revs are smoother and feels (psychologically) smoother.

Third, added Tornado Air. I know. I know. What the heck. I'll give it a try. No difference.

Fourth, added a Budget Y-Pipe. It was a great deal and best bang for buck.

Great day. Car feels like new! My speedometer rises as if it's the tachometer. I wanna eat some Civics.

I have a question. Why do you have to reset the ECU after Y-Pipe install?

your tornardo air will probably negate the benefits of the y-pipe

Ok help me out cause the 2000 I am buying has the same mileage and I want to do the tranny, did you just drain it and refill it or flush it as well, what is the difference, can it be done at home. And what is a pcv valve, also what about fuel filter? Any other things you reccomend I should do to this car

how much MT-90 did the tranny take? Is that transmission fluid or gear oil?

ok, lets clear some things up:

oakes57: komax has a manual transmission, so there is no "flushes" out for it. So changing the tranny fluid is a simple drain and fill. Please go to http://www.motorvate.ca for directions

maxmilion: komax's first post states he used manual transmission fluid. And Mt-90's only designation is tranny fluid. If you have a auto, you cannot run mt-90 fluid. If you have a six speed, then you'll be running 3 quarts for the change (read fluid and lubricants forum) instead of the usual 5 quarts for a 5spd

The 6 speed takes less than 3 qts of oil.

Shoot, jack that Tornado Air out of there, get a refund, and take your car to a dealer or mechanic to have its FUEL FILTER changed...

THAT will open up your horsepower in ways you never thought possible, especially if it has 80K miles and hasn't been changed...

Someone dynoed the Tornado a while back either here or Altimas.net and actually lost HP to the tune of 5hp.

Get ride of the crap Tornado, tried it and got the same effect, lost a few HPs. Get your money back!
