Will the Stealership Void my Warranty for this?

If I stop going to the dealership for the oil changes and go to some place closer to my house. Mainly I want to do this is I'm getting a INJEN and I don't need them seeing that just in case my MAF blows. Also should I switch my oil from the one that the dealership uses? If so what kind? I really don't need them voiding my warranty since I still have 45,000 or 2008 until my warranty is up.

i got an intake too..
you can just go to jiffy lub or Ez lube..
and i dont think the dealership is gonna void your waranty..
i mean if your blows all u got to do is to put back your stock box and take it to the dealer.. they have no way to prove that the MAF failure was the cause of your intake..

however,, if you get your oil changed somewhere else its best to use mobil 1 and DEFENITLY use nissan filter...its only 4 bucks and its by far the best oil filter

dealer should not bother intake, exhaust for warrenty issues......unless they could prove u that something went wrong because of these 2 things......recently when I was at the dealer I saw newer model of Sentra Spec V getting new engine under warrenty and that Sentra had after market exhaust and CAI and still getting new engine under warrenty. I thought my tranny was covered under warrenty but dealer called me and told me that Nissan is not going to pay penny for my Max. I had to get it towed to diff place to get my tranny rebuild.

The only thing I'm worried about is if I take it in there for a oil change with the INJEN on then my MAF blows. Then I switch back to stock and take it in and they say we know you had a intake on and your not covered.

i guess that kind of goes with the terroritory. they may not even remember because of the volume of cars they see. i have never seen a tech make notes about the car has and then store them for future reference besides the repair/services they perform. if they do remember it, they will not void your warranty but can deny repairing the maf. you have to think from their point of view in that they will not cover something that increases the chance of the maf failing even though some have failed with the stock intake and filter. i would suggest picking up a spare if it does fail. i have a great relationship with my dealer and they do not hassle me with any of my mods at the same time covering a large amount of work under my 3yr/36k and now under an extended warranty.

You can get your oil changed anywhere you like. You can add an intake without it voiding your entire cars warranty. It's quite simple. If you add an intake, it's gonna void your ehaust warranty unless you have a really cool dealership. If you replace a tire on the car, the new tire isn't under warranty from Nissan at least. Think of it this way: If you add a new part on your car, why should they have to pay if it breaks? Buying a new tire only voids your tires warranty from Nissan and not the entire car. Print these links out and take them to the dealership if they give you any hassle and stand strong!

D@mn, were you in there for warranty work when he told you this. Now seeing both you and Woo cho having problems with this dealership I might not even take my car in there with the intake

I went in for an oil change + to have them check out a sunroof rattle. It was such a long while ago, I never go there anymore. You def. shouldn't take the risk of going at that place w/an intake.

Check out the "dealership experiences" forum and go back a few weeks/mths. There's one dealer in Springfield I think who's mod friendly. I take my car to Exton Nissan (which will prob. be out of the way for you Philly guys), but they have been good to me service-wise. I still don't trust taking my car there w/something like an intake though b/c you never know w/these people. Most are allways out to rip off the customer.

btw. I bought my Max at Sloane..the sales dept. is good there in that they are very willing to negotiate on prices, but the service sucks. Devon Nissan has a good rep from what I've heard in service, but I've never gone there myself.

edit: here's that thread Colonial Nissan in Feasterville

I'm going to go and try Montgomeryville nissan. Other than that I guess my next best one would be Festerville

Stealership.....LOL . Yeah the Nissan steal...err...dealership sucks here too, I took my car in awhile back to have the driver's side electric window motor replaced and they took an entire ****ing day for a job that takes about 30 minutes...I avoid the dealership at all costs.

There's no more devon Nissan, they are Exton Nissan. Yes, they're good in all around I bought my car from them and had good experience with them for service. One time I had my airbag light blinking from messing with the audio wireing, I took it to Devon(Exton now) Nissan and they knew the airbag light was blinking from messing with the audio wireing but even they knew they cleared out for me at any cost. All they asked me is to giv them good grade on their reportcard when they send it to my house.....
