To anyone with AE shift ****

The paint on my AE shift **** started to flake off... I guess due to wear and tear. I noticed that the paint underneath the silver paint is much brigher. I decided to take off the silver paint and to my surprised, its chrome underneath. I then started taking all the silver paint off by using rubbing compound and a rag. Here's how they look now. Shiney at heck. i can see my reflection.

Here's how they looked before

I have the **** too. There are scratches in mine and I figured it'd look good with just the chrome underneath. I used to have an Acura 3.2TL and the shift plate around the autostick had the same thing going. I knew a lot of guys who took it off and used paint thinner to show the chrome off.

Me likey!
