flywheel question

Is the flywheel in the 5th gens the same as the 4th gens. The reason I'm asking is that I have found 4th gen flywheels are cheaper. I figured that they were the same since the 4th gen clutch is the same as the 5th gens.

It is probably different in weight. There could also be differences in the bolt hole pattern and thickness. How much cheaper are you talking about? Is your flywheel toasted?

Yes they're the same on all of the VQ30 engines.

interesting, considering swa says that the 5th gen one is reduced 7lbs. while the other is reduced 5lbs. But if there is differences, they are very slight. I know 4th gens running 5th gen trannies and vice versa

I'm ready to buy. Are you 100% sure? I know "http://www.unorthodoxracing.com/nissan_maxima.html" says that they're the same but I dont want to buy the wrong one.

A $100 diffrence in price is a very good reason to wonder.
