Can you say front impact repair! The ad doesn't state anywhere that it's a salvaged or repaired car

I noticed right off the bat 1) steering wheel airbag cover 2) missing fog lights 3)miles for a 02 (suggests it was wrecked and sitting at a salvage yard for a long period of time) & 4) the price for a 11k mile car. I totally missed the grille and bumper. I feel sorry for the person who doesn't know Maxima's Thanks for the fun guys.

Well looks like a 5 Gen/5.5 Gen hybrid to me, between the grille, the shifter, headlights, taillights, lack of foglights, rims, two tone bs inside. Id say thats one f'ed up maxima. My Guess front end collesion, so new headlights, grille ( thats why its and old one ) and a different steering wheel bc of air bag

Looks like a sweet ride. Your shifter boot looks brand new. Most of the one's I've seen kind of sag.

its a 2k2 with a 2k-2k1 front bumper

why?
-2k2 shifter console
-2k2 gauges
-Look closely at the door handles (its a 2k2-2k3 door handle)
-steering wheel functions are also 2k2-2k3
-rear view mirrior (i could be wrong, but i thought auto dimming mirrors only started in 2k1 a.e. and then on to 2k2-2k3)

i ran a quick VIN check... the title is actually clean.. it was a rental/fleet car though..
also

it has had 11k miles since 05/06/03
and it was sold at an auction twice.. meaning some dealer bought it and probably couldnt sell it, so he pushed it at the auction again..

definitely had a nice front end collision, causing the air bags to go and the bumper to be replaced...

sad thing is, someone will come along, buy this thing and get raped on the price.. not suspecting anything

i was at a dealer car auction when i was buying my 4th gen and i was looking at the cars being sold... even dealers buying them didn't suspect a thing.

I saw GLEs with SE and GXE parts, SEs with GXE gauge clusters, GLE badges etc.. lol..

haha

yeah.. ofcourse occasionally, there are people that mod them and swap parts because they want to.. but in an overwhelming percentage of cases, these cars have been:

damaged by floods
stolen, abused and stripped
had nice accidents
had fires
whatever...

then the body shop geniuses either think that a 2000-2003 maxima is all the same ****, GLE or SE or GXE.. or they know they are different but don't know how.. so as long as parts fit together, who cares, they don't think anyone would know anyways (and most of the time, they are right)

but

my 98 GXE is a model hybrid too
SE grille
blacked out window trim and door handles (only on SEs)
2000 SE wheels
but it's a GXE inside

I'm kind of curious to see what Carfax would say. Does anyone have the link to a free report or can someone run it on this car?

I am not sure how long it takes before carfax shows the dirt on the car but I'll tell you that I had a car stolen (86 Turbo Regal) and recovered some 2 months later totalled. I bought it back from my insurance for my current project(El Camino w/Turbo Buick drivetrain) and for sheets and giggles I ran a carfax on the recovered car and everything showed as being fine and dandy. I would be curious to see what carfax says about it now since it's been 2 or 3 yrs. If anyone wants to see what carfax has to say about a previous stolen, recovered and salvaged car the Vin. is 1G4GK4772GP219199
