SES Code = 0???

I just took my car out of storage due to a good stretch of good weather. 150 miles later the car threw a SES light. I brought it to the nearest AutoZone and they got a code of 0 (zero). What the hell is that???

Any other reason for the SES light to come on if there's nothing in the ECU?

Oh well. I'm resetting the ECU again, and we'll see if it comes back!

Results from dealer...

2 Codes:
Lean Condition
Random Misfire

They said that the ECU did not provide detail as to which banks caused the errors, therefore they suspect that the cause was either "one of my accessories", or it could have just been bad gas.

Can bad gas actually cause a SES error??? The car did sit for 3 months w/o Stabil in the gas.

on the way home, i suddenly saw the dreaded SES lighting up while driving on the freeway. i wasn't going full throttle but just cruising, maintaining about 25k rpm at 75. it's the first time that it's ever happened to my car. no loss of power and i don't think it's maf failure since i just had the maf sensor replaced with the '03 one.

the only thing i can think of is the arco gas that i had to get yesterday b/c i was running low on gas.

i was able to reset the ecu about 20 minutes ago, and that seemed to have cured the SES light. hopefully i don't throw another one tomorrow...

TRY USING 2 18" ZIP TIES AND SNUG UP THE CONNECTION OF THE WIRING HARNESS WHERE IT MEETS THE ECU UNDER THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS SIDE KICK PANELS. JUST WRAP IT AROUND THE WHOLE COMPUTER- THIS IS A CERTIFIED NISSAN TSB. I DID IT AND BAM NO MORE LIGHT AFTER I RESET IT. THE DIAGNOSTIC MAY BE GETTING 0 BECAUSE THE WIRES ARE JUST LOOSE. OVER TIME, AND BUMPS THEY CAN LOOSEN UP. JUST SNUG THEM UP AND GET IT RESET...TOOK ME 5 MINUTES...I GIVE THIS FIX A DIFFICULTY RATING OF 2 WRENCHES...10 BEING REBUILDING THE TRANS WITH ONE ARM IN A CAST.
FYI, IF THIS DOESN'T FIX IT, REFLASH THE ECU ALSO MAKE SURE THE BATTERY IS IN GOOD SHAPE, GET A NEW GAS CAP AND NEVER RUN THE CAR WITH IT OFF.
ALSO RUN A FEW TANKS OF GAS- CAREFUL WITH ADDITIVES THEY CAN TRIP A LIGHT, ESPECIALLY FUEL SYSTEM CLEANER.
NEXT GUESS WOULD BE THE REAR 02 SENSOR EASY FIX OR IT COULD BE COIL(S) OR MAF ETC...LIKE I SAY, ONE DAY A TA TIME MY BROTHA- GOOD LUCK.

SIDE NOTE: NISSAN NA OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED NOT TO RECOGNIZE THIS ON GOING PROBLEM THAT IS EFFECTING GOOD CUSTOMERS. I HONESTLY WILL NOT LIKELY BUY NISSAN AGAIN. IF ANYONE FROM NISSAN CORP. IS READING THIS...MAY YOU LOOSE YOUR WINNING LOTTERY TICKET, FORGET YOUR PIN WHEN YOU
NEED IT MOST, LOSE YOUR WIFE TO YOUR SISTER AND OH YEAH- WHEN YOU SHELL OUT $30K ON THE CAR OF YOUR DREAMS WITH ALL THE MONEY YOU SLAVED FOR, MAY THE ^%&^% CEL LIGHT COME ON AND MAY I BE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COUNTER WITH A BIG OLD SMILE AND LINE AFTER LINE OF DEALER BS FOR YOU....WHAT COMES AROUND GOES AROUND-

just a fyi:
autozone said they do not pull codes anymore. this is in my area, don't know if it applies to other areas of so cal too.

i guess i'll clear it once again, and hope it's just bad gas. if it comes up again, i'll bring it to the dealer.
