i began looking at the pirrelli p7000, but then after looking at the price of them on 18" and finding out that they dont last, i gave up on them
any one know any good tires that last longer but yet performs well with good price????
i heard the potenza s02 was good, true???
how about toyo's??? my cousin said toyo's were good but havent looked into toyo yet

pirelli p7000 super sports are the best, that is what i am looking at to relace my 225/50 17 Bridgstone potenza re92's stock. they suck so bad. so-2's are good, they are on my friends s2000, but they wear out real quick. toyo's are good too, but also a bit expensive.

My Dad had the Potenza S-02's on his '96 911 TT and now a set on his '93 928 GTS. They are GREAT tires! The 928 absolutely eats tires and these have lasted the longest of any that he's had. The performance is awesome as well. I would definitely suggest the S-02's.

i run kumho's in the summer. they were pretty cheap and fit my budget at the time. i don't auto-x or road course race so they are fine and can handle speeds in excess of 100 mph. aggressive tread pattern too. i believe i paid around 150 a piece. might find them cheaper though.

The S02s are great but do wear quick. Also take a look at the Kuhmos. People who us the Kuhmos love them, especially for the price. Another tire to look at is the Dunlop SP9000. I had those on my Audi A4q and they were great. Especially in the rain.
Good Luck,

I'm running Toyo FZ4's in 235 40 18 which I purchased from Tirenet.com for 157 each delivered about 2 months ago. They handle very good but are a little louder than what I was use to prior, but I just went to 18 from 15 so that's probably par for the course. These tires offer good performance and good treadwear characteristics at a decent price.

ok, if you get toyo's, don't get fz4's...those are their 2nd best car tire and are not known to be so great...nothing personal plrod black 95 se thats just my opinion...they aren't bad or anything but cheng, i think you can do better for that price
everyone that has tried pirelli's have had a love/hate relationship...some people say they are the only tire they will ever buy and some people who try them say they never will again...in my opinion, pirelli's are overpriced and don't offer as good traction as many other tires on the market...depending on how much money you have to spend...you say you have an 18" tire so you need to figure out the exact size you want...i'm guessing you have 18x8 which means you should most likely put 245/40ZR18 on them...before i bought my tires, i talked to numerous people about tires before purchasing...everyone i talked to said the bridgestone potenza pole position s02's are the best...the regular (non pole position) s02's that come on some newer porsche's and that come on the new s2000's DO wear quicker than the pole position...bridgestone discovered that the problem was that the tire actually performed better with age in dry conditions, but got much worse with age in wet conditions so they basically fixed the problem...(everything i say in this post is just information i gathered before buying my tires from various people...mostly mingo and turbo95max)...if you have the money, go with s02's, but they are very expensive...if you buy from tirerack, they are about $250 each, but you have to pay shipping on top of that amount...the bfgoodrich g-force t/a kd's are supposed to be excellent for dry roads, i think on tirerack they rate better than any other tire for dry roads but be sure you get the kd...the kdw and kdws aren't even close to as good (i got tricked into started w/ the kdws and it handled similarly to the potenza re92's)...
my opinion
if you have the money, get the pole position s02's or the g-force t/a kd's
if you don't have quite that much money, the tires i have are supposibly the 2nd best bridgestones...the re730's...you will end up paying about $210 each for these in your size
if you don't have that much, go with nitto nt555's (not the drag radials and don't go for the 450's) or you might want to try out toyo proxe t1-s tires...kumho's are also supposed to be one of the best tires in that price range (but honestly doesn't compare to the s02's ore the 730's)...but kumho's are the best for their price ($125 per tire)
all the prices i got from tirerack...check there to find out exactly what tires you can get for your size (i just guessed 245/40ZR18)

Best tire in tests... RE730 by Bridgestone. Awesome tire and treadwear 300. Stay with that brand, Dunlop, and Yokohoma and you can't go wrong.

Kev, don't worry, I used the SE37K since my friend totalled his 4th Gen, but he's getting an GXE 5spd, so he'll be taking them back. The A032's are from my 4th Gen, so I might as well order another set of SSR Type C's in 16x7.
For the show, I'm probably gonna get something in a polished finish, but the Proxes T1s by Toyo can't be beat. The FZ4's , maybe it was the car, but they squeal too much. The P7000SS didn't squeal that bad, the T1s grip like flypaper.
Excellent wet traction to boot too.
