P0171 code...???????

Hey guys, sorry to bother you. My SES light goes on and off every month or so and stays on for like a week before it goes off. I checked the code and it was P0171 as fuel injection system lean (right bank). Does that mean its definitly the O2 sensor or even most likely?
So ...
1) Should i get it checked out or just buy the O2 sensor and try to replace it myself?
2) If I do buy one which one, where do i buy it , and how much should I be expecting to pay?
3) Are there any threads or how to's on relpacing the O2?

Thanks for all your help

Perhaps THIS RECENT THREAD will help. As for where to purchase an O2 sensor (if that is indeed the problem), check the parts sticky.
