Delay in Power with Intake Question?
I have a Weapon Intake with a K&N Filter. For the last week or so it has been hesitating in 1st and 2nd gears, I would give it all the gas it needed but there would be a sudden drop in power lasting a split second and then it would go just fine. I cleaned the filter yesterday and now its running great. I only have 5000 miles on the filter and it wasn't that dirty at all. So I am wondering, anyone else ever have this problem with an intake?

dont dip the maf into a claeaning agent. I don't know what is used to clean the maf, except maybe a light alcohol solution and a qtip. these things are very sensitive, as I had found out on my truck. kast $370 mistake I ever make
as far as the throttle body, you can use carb/choke cleaner and a wire brush. just spray in there and get all the gunk, and the deposits from the inner walls of the throttle body, and wipe clean with a rag. when you first start up after the cleaning, it will choke a little bit from the carb choke cleaner, but should run better than before.

Use Gunk Throttle Body Cleaner. It's a grey can. Don't spray it into your intake manifold. Spray it on a towel and wipe. This way you won't damage anything. Spraying it directly in and your on your own. Just wipe the inside of your maf, but don't clean it with any cleaners.

Mine is a 2000 auto and it seems to lose power right when it needs to shift into second. It does this at high rpms. I've been using amsiol P.I. for a few months now.

As for cleaning the MAF; I used a product called CRC contact cleaner on a MAF for my SAAB. Just took it out, sprayed doun the inside and let it dry. I cant see any reason why a Nissan MAF would be different.
I found this contact cleaner at Home Depot.

Face it, crap gets in there, air filter or not... in fact, some of this gunk could be from the PCV system, especially oily fumes that bake on the hot throttle body/manifold after the engine's shut off.
This is just a theory, but you get the idea.
