Another strut/spring thread (specific)
PLEASE ONLY ANSWER HERE IF YOU'VE ACTUALLY USED ONE OR MORE OF THESE STRUTS. Too many threads where people are just commenting "H-Tech looks good" or "I love the Yellow maxspeeds", etc etc.
I am concerned with RIDE QUALITY
I am going to get illuminas with either:
Tein H-Tech
H&R
Maxspeeds
I have ruled out all the others based on my "research" here on the org and elsewhere.
If you haven't had any of these, please don't post here.
All I want to know is how do these compare with stock 2k SE suspension. Is the ride quality (read: comfort) better, same, a little harsher, much harsher, etc. I am not concerned with performance, as they are all better than stock. Just HOW IS THE RIDE, especially on crappy roads...
Also, would appreciate it if you could tell me how the ride is with 17's - obviously you will have a harsher ride with 18's, 19's etc. so that wouldn't do much good.
Thanks in advance

H&R / Tokico Illumina is hands down the best riding sport/lowering setup you can install in your Maxima.
I've driven in and installed just about every combo you can think of and nothing rides better then H&R/Illumina.
With the Illuminas set on 2 all around it's as smooth as if not softer then a stock SE setup. With setting of 3 or 4 all around it's a nice firm sports car ride, yet still not harsh at all.
Keep your factory rims and stay away from Z rated tires and you'll have all the comfort you can possibley get on a sport setup.
