Why does the feet warmer stay on...

I have the upgraded climate control in my Maxima. When I press the off button for the whole system to shut off, the foot blower stays on. I've tried everything to get it to shut off but it won't. Anyone know what the problem is or how to fix it? Is there an electrical short somewhere?

its because you dont have the AC button turned on. the vents are still open and its coming through from the outside. just turn the AC button on and you wont feel the warm air anymore.

I think you mean the Recirc button, not the AC button. Automatic climate control doesn't have an A/C button. Yeah, turning the recirc button on should stop the draft. Also, did you know you can adjust the temperature of the vents even with the climate control off? (just turn the temp ****... problem is you can't tell what temp you're setting it to since the display's off)

I always turn the air back on and down to a cooler setting. Then when you turn the air off it won't be blowing that hot air.

Fresh air is supposed to flow into the passenger compartment constantly to prevent carbon monoxide poisioning. There are also special one way air flow valves in the rear quarter pannels to keep exhaust fumes from backing into the passenger compartment.

Also if you don't have fresh air flow into your car during the winter, your windows will fog up.

As spirilis said, you can adjust the temperature of that air flow by just turning the temp **** without actually turning the system on.

Even when I shut the system off when the recirc button on, I still feel air blowing on my feet. If I shut the system off at 90 degrees, it blows hot air. If I shut it off at 60 degrees, it blows colder air.

That's odd, the recirc should stop this (and I've verified it before on my car)

Hey guys try this trick I found out.

1) turn system off
2) Press MODE button once (You will notice the system come up but NO fan control)
3) select WHICH mode (vents you want circulating) you want and temp

I found this out when testing my temp modules via the ESM when I was having a climate control issue.
