Traction Control Malfunction?

Hello all,

Yesterday while driving my TCS, slip and check engine lights all came on at once while driving. My tires were not spinning at the time. I shut the car off for 2 minutes and the TCS lights turned off and it works fine, but the check engine light is still on. Any ideas what could have caused this before I go and get the code pulled? Thanks for the help....

everyone that this has happened to in the past has experienced an ignition coil failure. dont ask me why those particular lights illuminate but it has been a pattern. get the code pulled and most likey it will show p1320.

Okay, here's the thing before I shut down the car I pinned it from a stop and the TCS did not work it was stuck off until I shut the car off. When I re-started the car it cleared and the TCS functioned normally. Coils? I've heard of the problem but I have no power loss, no hesitation and/or jerkyness. I replaced the plugs last year also. I think I'll unplug the batt overnight and see if that resets it. Thanks for the help!

As soon as you re-connected the battery you held the brake pedal down for 2 min?

you should really pull the code before you unplug the neg. cable overnight. the ecu has already stored that the ses went off and even if it doesnt light back up, it has it stored. you may want to pull it and have the problem/issue corrected so you dont have a change at getting stranded for one reason or another.

yeah i would get it checked first since it is free. i wish i would have gotten mine checked so at least i knew what it was.

once i disconnected the negative battery cable i depressed the brake pedal. all i did in the morning was reconnect it.
