Stupid Question
You guys can pound on me later.
When they talk about "confirm the incident happened" on the TSB slow-delay shift, are they talking about a road test or talking about confirming the VIN# to see if my vehicle is affected?

It doesn't sound stiupid at all!
I just discovered that my rotors are warped. I'm planning to bring it in on Monday to have the dealer check it out but I'm also kind of worried that they wont notice it because you cant tell unless you break kinda hard while going about 65 to 70.
Leave it with them for a day. If they still say it doesn't slip, take it elsewhere. Not all dealers act the same way towards warranty work. Some will actually be quite willing to do it for you without a hassle. The two dealers I have been to have been like night and day when it comes to service. One will bend over backwards for you to do anything and the other won't do sh*t unless you bring them the busted tranny in your hands....

Why don't you leave it there overnight and have the appointment the next morning? That should help.

I found out that if your car is made after September of 2000, that you won't have the transmission problems. They also gave a VIN number range.
I checked my car against the VIN numbers, as well as my manufacture date, and it looks like I am in the clear. My car was made on October 15th, and my VIN was above the affected range.
I think it sucks that they didn't notify all the Maxima owners and tell them about the potential problems.
Thank God for this website. You guys have really helped me out a lot.
