Painful driver's seat

I just purchased a 2003 GLE and have been unable to find a comfortable seat position. No matter what position I set the seat, my lower back starts to hurt. My 1996 GLE had no such problem nor have I ever imagined a car seat could cause so much back pain. Has anyone else had this problem? How were you able to fix it? The car is so perfect in other respects it seems odd to have this type of problem.

I'm thinking of installing a different seat, i.e. Infiniti I35, but any other suggestions would be appreciated. Does any one know where to buy seats or where one can have their seat evaluated and modified?

there is a lever on the right side of the seat that activates the lumbar

this pushes out a support for your lower back ...i leave the lumbar on all the time

its on the right side about RIB height
