This Is BS!
Ok here is the deal.
I've got a auto 00 and just got a code pulled 0430. Great another fried oxygen sensor. I just had 0420 and paid over $200 to have that fixed. I have a WS y pipe and I am guessing this is the reason. Anyone else blowing 02's regularly with their y's. I think im gonna trash this ws y pipe. Fitment was good and gain were also good but i cant fix 02's every 3 months. Comments or help please.

The only bad part is they didnt have a cat in stock so i had to wait like 5 weeks for it. After i replaced the cat.. no more SES...
P0420/P0430 cat efficiency
These codes mean the cat efficiency is not good. The second ego's in the bank are monitors (After the cat). They keep an eye on the efficiency of the cat and flag a code when it falls below a set threshold. Time for a new cat! I would say. Warranty is normally 8 years 80 thou miles but check with your dealer. the rules of emmission warrantys changed in the mid 90's. Sorry for bringing the bad news but I replace so many due to those codes. I due driveability work for a local lincoln mercury dealership.

Do you know the technician? If so you might be in luck. As for me If It was a friend of mine or a close friend’s friend I would but for the most part I don't think so! If I was you I would feel out the dealer! Check to see if they sell aftermarket parts! See if they are a friend or foe to the performance driver! If they support aftermarket parts you maybe in good shape. See if you can get an inside connection. Something! By all rights you have removed a portion of the emission system. In there eyes this may put a greater load on what is still there causing it to fail sooner. I would talk to them first before taking the car in!!!!! If you take the car in and they see it modified they may make a note with Nissan (They keep track of cars by VIN’s). This is all just my personal opinion. Take the parts you want and disregard the rest. Hope it helps. Revtech/Ron WWW.1Badtruck.com
code p0420 and maybe even p0430 is most likely not a bad o2 sensor, but just that you need to get the o2 sensor recalibrated. there's a tsb on the o2 sensor so ask for it. it will most likely fix your problem. its a common problem with the 00's that the cade 0420 comes up. Look in the tsb page and bring it to your dealer, its covered under 80k! maybe you can get a refund...
