how do you remove shifter nob?
how do you remove shifter ***?
I have a piece from my dash kit that goes on the base of my 03' auto. cant get it on without removing the ***. i dont want to force it. usually they just screw off. if you know how to get the thing off, let me know. thanks in advance.
If you take your shifter **** off, I would plan to have a new one to put on. Seriously.
The **** does screw on but it is also taped/glued on the inside. I had to cut the cover off and the rubber of the **** off to get to the spot where it screws on.
I tried pliers, strap wrenches etc to squeeze the **** enough to get it off all to no avail.
Just cut it off and replace.

See you have a 5spd, its a bit different. For the auto's you just need to twist as hard as humanly possible and it will come off. I reused my stock ****. I just replaced it for a week, and didn't like how the new one felt. It went on smooth, I don't remember seeing glue.
