is this normal???

Had a friend and his girlfriend over last night. We went out to eat and took my Max. My friend and his girlfriend got into the back and the car almost bottomed out every time we hit a bump. I don't feel like this could be normal. My buddy and his chick are not beef, maybe 320 pounds total, so that could not be the problem. Does this mean my struts or shocks are bad?

Definitely (and unfortunately) normal. My GLE did the same thing. I've got SE rear springs now and they are a huge imporvement over the GLE springs... still rides nice too. Personnaly, the SE springs are still a little soft for my taste... we have very good roads here in Nashville, so stiffer would be nice.

This happened to me with Eibachs and stock shocks/struts after about 10k miles. I put new shocks/struts (Tokico) on and problem solved. Stronger shocks/struts might help. Just my .02.

There's a TSB out for rear suspension bottoms out on the owensfamily website that is posted here frequently. HTH
