Bringing it Old school!
Bringing it Old school!
Im prepared to take the full onslaught of hatred for this so here it goes...
I want to put a VQ30 in my 88 Maxima!
I was wondering what kind of spec's it(VQ30) has,HP,Torque...
Where would you get a good engine/trans(manual)
Also if you know of any stand alone ECU's that work I'd like to here about them.
My goal is to turbo charge it to make over 300whp.
Any help would be apprieciated!!

2000 VQ30DE-K ("-K" isn't part of the official name, it's a codename "Kaizen"... "better") puts out 222HP (6400RPM), 217 ft/lbs torque (4000RPM). I think 2001 is similar. Most of the trick is in the variable intake manifold (which is ECU-switched through the VIAS control solenoid, but you should be able to operate that using something like a Summit RPM switch I think?)
