Yeah, if you have BOTH though, that's better.

If you've already posted the Stillen AFR chart, I'll find it.

Stillen is the reason I got HOTSHOT also. These things are awesome. I am getting 2 dyno pulls on the 24th of this month.

2 questions on the Hot Shot headers.

1) is it annoyingly loud for a guy that likes a quiet ride?

2) if not too loud, is there any problems with leaks from the gaskets? Dave B was saying that non-oem parts tend to not fit EXACTLY, and their might be a problem with a leak...

I'm sure that one fits better than the other..

has anyone experienced a leak with the hot-shot headers?

Yo Icey, I think you need to edit the title of this thread man. It kinda sez...
Dyo Comparison of HOTSHOT Vs. STILLEN Headers
is it not missing an n
Just some food for thought

VQMAN: I heard a 3.5 (PhxBlue's) car today, he has the hotshot headers on there with the stock muffler and it reminds me of how the 350z sounds. No drone at all, it sounded VERY nice. Had a light tone to it that was a joy to hear, FAR from anoying. If you want power w/o much noise just get the HS headers, get a B-pipe with the resonator and keep the stock muffler. You could get some 3" magnaflow tips welded on & that covers the looks area and it keeps things nice & quiet. Just how I like it.

HotShot builds some quaility headers so I doubt your gonna get any leaking issues, if any its from a misplaced gasket

With the HS Headers, straight pipe, b-pipe with resonator and a stock muffler my car has no drone. I only get a tiny bit of raspiness becuase I removed the main cat.

on average what does it cost to have headers installed?

I don't have time to do it myself...

It could take upward to 5-6hrs. Its just that everything is in a compact area, by the time your done your arms would pretty much be turned into raw meat. Its a knuckle scraper to say the least.
So figure about $300ish to get it in (depending on labor rate obiously )

I emailed Hotshot, they claim their headers alone give a 19 horsepower jump.

From what I could see, juice had to put on Hotshot headers, TS ECU, Intake, Straight Pipe, 2.5 inch custom exhaust to Dynomax Superturbo Muffler. to get a 20 hp gain.

My car dyno'd at 204 whp when stock....

what kind of gains should I expect if I only get the headers and Cattman CAI?

20hp gain??? First off he is an automatic which dyno from 190-195 stock. The other mods gains

TS ECU: I proved nothing peak with modded Automatic
Intake: Maybe 6whp peak
Straight Pipe: Nothing on the dyno peak maybe 1-2whp
2.5" Exhaust with muffler: 6-8whp

When you look at it this was the HS headers do approx gain 19whp give or take 2-3whp. His gains from those mods range from 33-38whp from using the average Auto stock numbers. Just don't judge the headers from peak gains b/c they shine more for area under the curve power.

Hope this helps,

Matt

For $500 this is the best bang for the buck, as far as the people who are concerned with the noise trust me it's not bad at all, I actually love the deep sound it gives off. My Setup: INJEN, UDP, and HS Headers, I left the cat-back section stock. BTW southwestautoworks guys were great to deal with.

Hey 03SheerMax, how did you get it for $ 500, i was just looking on southwestautoworks website and they're selling for $ 600. Do we get any special deal by being a member of Maxima.org?

Thanks

Yes you do get a discount from SWA for being maxima.org member. But I also got the special introductory price on the Headers back when they first came out.

Is there a way to pass emissions inspection if you get these, like if the car is warm the main cat will give you good numbers, anyone have to get emissions done yet, and how did it go?
