Ground Control Coilovers
Well, I took a hard look at getting some coilovers before I ordered my Eibach springs (which are being installed at the dealership as I speak =). I didn't get them because: #1 They are ridiculously expensive. People told me you either need the entire system or it'll ride worse than original. #2 Couldn't justify the price when the spring replacement seems to be working so well for everyone else. #3 While its true the coilovers give more control over ride height (drop), how much can you really **** with it without buggering your camber anyway? #4 While ordering the Eibachs from Stillen, the tech guy (who really seemed to be helpful for a mail order guy) told me that Tokico has some new struts in the works for the 5th gens that are designed to compliment the Eibachs.
So basically what I am saying is I have no experience with the coilovers, but hopefully a little wisdom to share anyway. If you really want to know about the coilover setup, scroll down in the 4th gen forum till you find someone with that mod in their signature and ask them what they think. Chances are they had the Eibachs first and could give you some really good feedback. Hope this helps.

Only Problem...
I have Eibach Pro-kits (lightning motorsports, like $220?)...they ride a little harsher but lower the car about an inch. The car does not look lowered. The rear end kinda does, but, there's still a gap in the front wheel wells. If looks is all you care about, go get Ground Controls. If ride quality, stiffer springs, and cheaper spring replacement...get Eibach.
thru my observation
cattman doesn't make great coilovers. they cost more than they perform. witht he same price u can probably get the tein. the cattman uses kyb shox. i heard it's garbage. dunno tho. eibachs. it's performance. the truth is, handleing isin' all about dropping the car. it's components that work with each other the way they should. i know for civics they you can use drop forks. you can still use the stock spring and shock set up lower the car 3in and have no camber problems. i doubt the max can do that. we have a multi-link rear end. oh well. but i suggest if nething get tein for coilovers or better. you might need to order them straight from japan tho. h&r are for street race. if you don't drive like you autoX on the streets then they are nice and comfy and useful. but if you do drive teh car as if you were running from your mom then i say go with eibach. for shocks alot of ppl are having problems with tokicos after time. koni's seem to be highly suggested these days. adn don't ever chop stock springs and use stock shocks unless you just got too much money and time.

Hmmmm.....just had the Eibachs and the Stillen RSB installed today. I wasn't expecting much since its only an inch or so. So the Service Manager at the dealership walks me out to the car and I get a look at the front wheel as I walk closer. Wow!!! Definitely lowered. Maybe someone that isn't into Maximas wouldn't notice the difference (!?!). But for us enthusiasts if you cannot see the difference in an eyeblink you need glasses. At least with the way mine turned out....I don't see why anyone else's should be different. To me it is perfect. They lower the car noticably IMO without getting stupid. I have the factory 17" setup and if you look straight on there is no fender gap in the front. Didn't check the rear but it is lower still. My dealership only has a burgundy 2K1 SE anniversary with 17" wheels and it is up on display. I asked them to call me when they move it (within the week) so I could come over and take a picture side by side. Then everyone can compare the Eibach setup to stock.
As for the ride, yes it is stiffer. I like the feel. I agree with Solo that the Max just is not a road race car, but I'm gonna take it right to its limits. When I bought the car I thought "Wow this is a nice firm suspension. I can't imagine aftermarket parts helping it." WRONG. It corners alot better now. Now I did whack my head for the first time today after some wingnut with a 4.0 Cherokee wanted to race me at the worst washboard intersection in town (*sigh*), but hey that's life with the suspension. If you get the Eibachs and you are pushing the car past its suspension limits then for the love of God get off the road and onto a track.

coilkovers
I have them and it goes like this. The ride is a bit bumpy. Sometimes, i think maybe i should have goten the eibachs, but it looks so much better than eibachs. My car is very low and it looks really clean. The eibach dont give a low enough drop and so i think it still looks funny. The picture is without lowering. I need a new picture...... The coilovers cost about 1 bill more. I think its worth it. My tires are just slightly tucked.

I went ahead and got the Ground Control Coilovers and put them on already... it looked great, but the ride quality was really harsh... I pulled off the front springs today and put my stock ones back on and it is MUCH BETTER! I think I am going ahead and ordering the Eibach Springs later this week...
