Wheel hub from 2k2 vs 2k3. Different? Please help

Hi guys, I've been trying to get my new rims on (HP Evo's). I tried the rears only but it seemed like the wheel would just kind of wobble around on the hub. Do you guys think I need a hub centric ring? The thing is, the guy that I bought these rims off of had a 2k2 and I think that he did drive around on them for a little while. I'm not sure what it is. Please help me...

Okay I think I know what it is. I think that the cover for the actual hub needs to be pried off cuz it looks like thats keeping the wheel from going on all the way and sitting flush. Can somebody please verify this?
