As I am in the process of buying new rims, I am looking at my suspension options.

Currently, I am on H&R's/Stock shocks, and although its a vast improvement over stock, the ride absolutely sucks. It feels like the rear end is bottoming out, and I am very unhappy as the car still feels excessively floaty. Also the drop is next to nothing with H&R's (like 1")

At first i was wanting JIC A1's verybadly.. But now i am thinking about Illumina's and Tein springs.

Reason? Well I was wondering if the $350US price difference justifies going with the A1's. HOWEVER... I live in canada, and i don't htink the JIC's will survive our salty winters because i hear the sleeves and collars actually start rusting..

What do you guys think?

Too me the extra $350 is worth it to get the JICs. Full coilovers vs. springs and shocks..there is no comparison...

Not sure about the rusting issue, hose the car down a lot after it snows!

Actually, I am really more concerned about corrosion.

It happened to another member, MAXRPM where his JIC actually corroded from salt damage.

But for me, i have so much weight in the trunk with the XBOX, and stereo equipment, and I don' tknow if ultimate handling is my goal, but i like the adjustments for height...

IE> if you go to the track, you can raise the rear and dropped the front to put the weight over the fron ttires.

ANy other opinions?

Well, you gotta find out if there is a way to protect these parts like wrapping them or something. If you can protect them id say buy them. Their performance and comfort value is far beyond regular springs and shocks. Ill be buying some since I travel in my car alot and can adjust them to be nice and soft.

They salt roads in MD alot.

go with H-tech/Illuminas. IMO they would look/ride the best and with all the equipment in the truck the car will have an even drop. If you go with S-techs, the car will sag in the back. sounds like you already know what will happen with the JICS in the weather up there.

I had the same questions. I currently have Tein S-Tech with KYB GR2 and the front suspension bottoms out. I get a loud bang when going over a harsh bump on the freeway. Not enough travel and too soft of a strut. Rear struts are also getting weak. No sag though. I've had this setup for approx. 6 months.

My question to anyone who has Tein/Illum. combo. Do you guys have the same problem? Or is a there enough travel with a stiffer strut. I did cut my bump stops by the way.

I'm leaning towards JIC unless I get some good news from the Tein/Illum owners.

I should have went with the AGX's but everyone was praising the GR2's at the time .

who wants YOUR opinion? the H-tech drop is and as a S-tech guy..know what you are talking about before you post. The S-tech is the MOST EVEN DROP. Lay off the pipe..the only s-tech drop that sags in the a$$ is kloogy.,..but he has a crazy setup in the trunk..

oh, and BTW jr..coilover ride BETTER than spring/struts. but you didnt know that
