I backed out of GAB mod, possible problem with sensor readouts???

I was going to do the GAB mod, but I noticed that if I cut an opening in the filter there is a sensor (which i think is the air temperature sensor) further upstream from the airbox. So if I make that opening on the air filter box then the readout from the air temp sensor will become innacurate as air is coming in from another place.....
See the pic I took, maybe I am wrong here but wanted to pass this along....what ya think?

Both will be just fine with the GAB so long as they are both plugged in.
