I did the following during the past week....

Cleared the HID's

Installed AE Tails, shaved rear end, painted emblem and keyhole

Blacked out chrome window trim

Thanks to MAXimumHP for his help and housecor for the HID write-up.

Nice. Time to smoke out the clears to set the theme. But don't make it too dark.

Tint will be next. Unfortunately, limo would be too dark...local law enforcement doesn't like that.

I'm not sure about black rims, though....maybe gunmetal. Thanks for the props.

Smoked clears and tint would complete the look...I think black/gunmetal rims with polished lip would look sick too...

Those eyelids will look tight on your car!!

I can't wait to get those eyelids, Triple8Sol. I'll post pics for sure the minute they're installed.

What's the best way to smoke the clear corners?

Use VHT nightshades. Buy it here. I'll post a pic of how it looks on clear corners and how dark you should make it.

This pic is as "afar" as I have right now. Sorry about the glare on the windows.

Here's what you should do. Smoked clear corners. 35% tint. AND Your CF eyelids that are coming.

Nice photochop, 2K3. Tint would look good, as well as the corners.

I used TrimBrite blackout tape for the window chrome.

Very nice Blue! Man...I gotta get out to visit with ya' so you can get me headed in the right direction.

The tails / rear looks very clean. I'm telling ya', you need to add the plate frames I mentioned (or something similar) a while back. It's a low-end bolt-on but I think it they would add just a little more "tightness" to the visual your putting out there. If I can get a close-up pic of mine later today (car's dirty from sittin' at the airport though, I'm embarrased ) I'll send it your way for reference.

Re: the smoked clears, definately something you need to do. I've been toying with the idea as well and may still do the mod but since I'm "on the other side" and continuing down the "cruiser / touring" path (read: "I went back to a GLE for a reason.") I haven't decided for sure. They may look weak on my ride.

I'm envious brother, your attention to detail shows!

Your car looks great. I agree with everyone that tint should be your next step. I just bought Enkei ZR1 rims, and they would look great on your car. Its hard to tell in these pictures due to the light conditions, but they are a lighter gunmetal with polished lip.

Thanks, guys.

nissan5788: Like Prinz said, I have a clear bra but only on the leading edge of the hood. It has done a great job at protecting it.

Jaws: I'm hoping to get tint by June. I like your wheels....where did you get them? Size?

.45: I'll most likely smoke the clears soon....I've been looking for a plain black frame, but haven't found one yet. Yeah, we should get together, too.

Prinz: As always...thanks, man.

Very nice. I'm especially impressed with the blacked out chrome. However, I disagree with the smoked clear idea. Blacking some things out is great, but it can be overdone IMHO. I would go really light on the tint since everything else is so dark and monochromatic. Sounds like you're already headed that route. Great work!

BTW - Like the new sig.

The blacked out trim looks great. I was thinking about doing that to my car. Can I ask how long did it take you to do? Do you have any close up shots of what the trim looks like? I am worried about it fading in the sun or cracking with the extreme temps in Chicago.

digging the blacked out trim. I have a black max, and have always wondered what I could do to black out the trim. I have tinted windows, but it is a very light tint. I also think smoking out the corners would look sick as well.

good job my man
