Illuminas with OEM springs? Please step inside..
A few comments, lowering springs do not only lower the center of mass. They also have a different coil rate. This will be the resistance to the springs deformity to shape. It will allow the spring to react quicker, and reform it's original shape. This means quicker suspension response during spring compression, and will bring the road feel into the mix. You will feel the road, and have a more affirmitive feedback to the driving experience. This will make vague handling be less of a problem, and allow your suspension to react quicker to any sort of forces pushing down on the car, to the side, whatever. It will allow you to enter a turn with more resistance to the turn so it won't let a corner or sharp turn have it's way with your ride.
The lower center of mass doesn't make a big difference since the mass distribution of the car to begin with isn't perfect. It can either help or not help, but they didn't design the car to have a great center of mass to begin with, hell it's FWD. Every time your car moves it has to deal with all of the weight and torque being upfront. Having a car front heavy will make the car
have difficultly getting the power to the ground, as well as the suspension having more compression up front then in back. Try flooring your car and slam on your breaks, you will notice up front the car dips, not in back.
Actually, i dont know, perhaps adjustables can help with the matter, but i still think that it might be odd compared to what your used to. If you made the back tighter to compensate, it might do something interesting i suppose.
Yet, i do think the struts are only a piece of the synergy a new suspension would give you, and won't make a dramatic difference on stock springs.
I think the perfect solution for you is coilovers, which you can adjust the height whenever you want. If you do anything at all strut wise, do get adjustables.
I love my eibachs, the car isn't slammed, but the springs give an excellent ride. I think the look of a totally slammed car is kinda lame to begin with. Also as you said, during the winter or in general bad road conditions, your dealing with the fact the car is so low that it's literally scraping the bottom whenever your suspension bottoms out.

How do they compare to H&R quality wise?
Thanks.

Thanks.
Irish and I both got them here: http://www.abtivan.com/
installed illuminas today with the stock se springs, set fr and rr to 3.
the ride is definetely better than with stock shocks, not floaty at all.
I need to get wheel alignment done now, anyone can recommend a good shop in Philadelphia area?
The strange thing is that after installing illuminas the steering wheel is no longer centered, car doesn't seem to pull to either side, and i know i need wheel alignment done, but i didn't expect the steering wheel to be off center like that.
Anyone had the same happen to them?
