Hey everyone...I have a blue 5 spd. 2000 Maxima. The only mod I have done is the Stillen Air Intake, which I definetly recommend to everyone, as it does add a few HP, gets better mileage, and it sounds cool as hell.

I just thought I'd let everyone know that I had my Maxima over 145 mph. Everyone seems to think the max speed is 143, but I KNOW it's not. Ask some of the buffalo up near Cheyenne and they'll tell you.

I put a regular k+n filter in my 2k se 5spd and it helped with a better throttle sound and a little more pull, but my top speed is about what it should be...

 

Hawkdog, U must have the wind on your side b/c the intake has nothing to do with top speed, the ECU limits your car from going beyond that speed. 143-145 not much difference. 5800RPM is the limit on 5th gear and I was real close to it

 

I thought the max wasnt limited by the ecu but limited by the tire rating and drag....

my gxe is governed to 133 / 134

i was pretty certain that it was not at the redline governer either - i was under 6000. b.t.w. that's easy to find by just stomping on the gas when in neutral. the tach will go up and down like, like... it does in playstation gt game.

tires wont neccesarily limit the top speed - they'll limit the top SAFE speed. & the drag at high end, while severe i'm sure, wont stop the max at 133/34

 

I don't know about the intake, but the car had 4 people in it and we were also 6000 ft. above sea level...and I didn't feel any speed limiter at all. Beats me.....
