Should I buy a G35 Coupe?

I found a great deal on a 2003 Black G35 Coupe with Charcoal Leather: 6-speed, Prem. Package+Aero Package with 6500 miles for $29,000, private party. Should I jump on it, I just sold my 2K3 Nissan Maxima SE. Feedback please.

If I had the cash, I wouldn't think twice. Go for it, you might want to Carfax check it first.

I have a friend who has this exact same car..he loves it, HOWEVER this car is absolutely worthless in any kind of bad weather...so as long as you live somewhere warm you will be ok (sucks in the rain too). If you want more info feel free to PM me and I will ask him.

I'd jump on it, if the strain wouldn't be too much....Get a good set of winter tires and you should be set...if it snows a lot in your neck of the woods...Its my next car even if we did get dumped on this winter...

Scenario
Seller won't provide me the VIN unless I make him an offer above his asking price of $29,000 or I would of ran the CARFAX, already. He told me he has someone flying to purchase the vehicle. However, since he doesn't have a deposit he is looking for the highest offer. What kind of seller is he? He should put his car on ebay. However, he might be bluffing me into buying the vehicle. Also, has minor scratches and right wheel has curb scratches; but still a damn good price.

Damn, just off of GP I might not buy the vehicle. I mean have a gentleman going across country to pickup my 2k3 Sheer Silver in 3 weeks. Although, I received an offer for more then what we agreed; I feel obligated to sell the vehicle to him.

Time to go back to PLAN A: pickup some property either townhouse or condo and rent the property. With the extra income monthly, I will purchase something nice and RWD/AWD in about 1.5-2years. I am 24 years old and will have plenty time to have a nice sports coupe. Besides I have a feeling Infiniti will offer a G35 Coupe in AWD soon enough.

You just answer your own question....My advise is wait dont jump on any deal with your eyes blinded...if that car is scratched...why not buy a new one and this time you make the sratches...(if that make sense), wait until the AWD comes out is a better deal!!! I am thinking about buying one my self but i have to take my time and shop smartly!!!

Good Luck.

He could be bluffing to get more $$$ for his car. I've ran into sellers like that before. I just told him to sell to his unimaginary buyer. Never ended up selling his car and about 6 months ago, I saw his add again w/ few grand less. So dumb.

Yes. But not this one. His refusal to give you the VIN is a red flag. Look elsewhere.

Just buy new. You'll be happier that the car wasn't used. Save up and buy new.

not giving you the VIN means he is probably hiding something. you have every right to ask for it. buying his G35 isnt exactly costing you pennies. forget him and save your money for the AWD coupe

Although getting a 6mt for under 30 is pretty good - go for the real estate. When I was 25 I also sold a nice car to put money down on my 1st house - which has appreciated approx. $90,000 since that time (7 years ago). Thus, I could get 3 of those G35's with just the increase in equity.....or at least pay cash for one 2k3 Max Your sales integrity is appreciated.....see you in 3 weeks.

I am gonna stick with plan A and just wait. Also the only reason why I wanted to jump on the deal was that a brand new G35 Coupe with those options runs MSRP $36.5K+tax; although I could probably get one for $35.6K+tax. So that would be a savings of $6.6K (not taking into account depreciation of 1 year)+adjusted pro-rated property tax (gotta love Northern Virginia) if the priced was agreed upon at $29K.

But that's why I love the org, always knocking sense into my immature mind.

Also Craig, I am really gonna miss my car, please take care of it. Today was actually a nice day in DC, washed the car took a nice short ride to Georgetown, listening to some new music with windows and moonroof rolled down and opened.

I don't think the G35c will be available in AWD anytime soon if ever.

I test drove a 6mt coupe just a few days ago over lunch. The car handles and corners beautifully. I've talked to a several owners and the car is not a bad winter car at all. Since the car comes with high performance summer tires one is forced to buy a seperate set for winter. All seasons(more like no seasons) are the compromise that don't get the job done. If I knew for sure that I'd be keeping my max for a few more years I'd get dedicated winter and summer tires, especially after this past winter.

One can never go wrong investing in real estate. As much as I enjoy cars, we all know that cars are never a good financial investment.
