Having trouble with y-pipe and udp
I have a 2000 5spd MAX CALI spec
Y-PIPE:
The recent owner of the car was from upstate NY, so it has had heavy amount of salt, and it DEFINITELY shows. The bolts are rusted...I wanted to ask any of you guys who had the same condition when installing the y-pipe on how you replaced it (the bolts are too rusted that it most than likely needs to have it cut off somehow and i don't know how).
UDP:
I tried turning the bolt on the original crankshaft pulley LEFT, but it will not budge, even while trying to perpendiculary torque it using a 6 ft pipe (probably 250-300ft/lbs of torque). I was wondering how you guys took it off. I'm starting to wonder if it needs to be turned RIGHT to loosen it.
Your inputs would be much appreciated.

Your problem is you using hand tools. You need to use an impact wrench in this situation. It will get the Crankpulley bolt off and the rusted bolts off in a Jiff. If you dont have them, then you need to get to someone who does, cause you will be there all day trying to crack it loose probably breaking sockets/tools in the process. Been there and no point.

Maybe your impact wrench only tops out at 200ft lbs. Better impact wrenches put out 450+ft lbs of torque. You will need that.
I had the same problem, my crank pulley wouldnt come of with my 250ftlb impact, then Jay25 came over with his 450ft.lb impact and it tore it off in 15secs.
DBA1999us : impact wrench is the tool most autoshops to use to rip the nuts off the wheels in a jiff.

You can always blip start (make sure u dont start it) your car. I did that for two of my 5th gen maximas and it worked. The bolt turns counterclockwise to come off. Get a breaker bar and mount it where the bar will either hit the floor (concrete) or hit the lower control arm i think its called. You see when u get under there. But i dented my oil filter a little each time but it got it loose every time.
