My custom CF Sub Box
My custom CF Sub Box
Thanks to SEmy2K2go and Slammed95 I have one of the coolest subboxes ever. SEmy2K2go provided the box design which I had used and had to modify a little bit from his design to work for me. Slammed95 had made the carbon fiber piece of the front the box and came out flawlessly. Here are a couple pics installed in car. I am not done yet with my amp rack so that's why the boards are holding the box in place.

Follow SEmy2K2go's directions from his website and lots of patients and twiking. Like SEmy2K2go said he put 40 plus hours into his and that's about right.

Once I put the subs in the box I had put the box in my back seat, not where it is now but in so I could hook it up to my other amp under pass. seat and went through every CD I could think of. lets just say I can't wait to finish.
Tap plastics has sheets of epoxy impregenated carbon fiber. It's thick and stiff and can be molded, so Tap says. I folded a corner of mine and realized that it can be molded, just not folded. They sell a 2x4 foot piece for about $80.00. You can find them on the net. I have a piece that I was going to use for my eyelids, however since I already picked up a pair from LCT I will use the CF to make some pillars. If you go this route, also get the liquid gloss that goes with it. It will give your cf that 3d look.
hmmm.... i am having problems installing my subs/amps in my new car. i installed all the power wires/ground/remotes, and the amps are on, but i have no bass.
i took it to circuit city, and my buddy worked on it for a while, and he got them to work, but they were really weak sounding. it seemed like they were barely on. he put it on another connection from the factory wire harness, and the subs pounded, but they were getting a full range signal. he told me if i play it like that i would blow my subs. i do not know what to do.
any tips? i posted about this in the audio section of the fourm, but no one ever goes in there.
sorry to get off topic...
nice setup by the way... hopefully someday i will have something similar to yours.

Funny thing I had the same problem with my system. AMp on but no subs. I took it to the local shop and they multimetered everything and It turned out I had a crappy ground. anybody that knows how to use a multimeter can help you out. It literally took me an hour without one and 3 minutes with one. I simply found a better ground and now my trunk is bumping.
you are also loosing a lot of SPL by facing the subs toward the driver. You should always face the subs away from the driver in the trunk. You will get better sound and louder bass. More accurate too. Can't really explain the science behind it but i've always been told that by everyone that works at audio shops. Even the best buy clowns confirmed this.

-Chrisman really my suggestion was get a decent aftermarket radio. It doesn't look clean but the output voltage on any aftermarket radio subwoofer output is much higher and cleaner than any rca line converter hooked into the stock radio. Unless you buy the JL audio line converter for hundreds of dollars you are never gonna get full and accurate sound out of those subs. Other companies make good line converter but i would suggest getting an aftermarket radio with at least 2V subwoofer outputs.

yah man i moved from 2 15 in memphis pr's to 1 diamond 10in d6 and it is way better. I really like diamond stuff probably because my good friend is a distributer. Cleaner is always better than louder. I swear I have lost most of my hearing because of my high school systems.
