Koni Yellow Height Adjustment

Does anyone have instructions regarding how I can adjust the perch on rear KONI shocks? It looks like there is a pressure ring fitted into one of two grooves cut into the body of the shock. What I don't know is how I can remove the ring (to move it to the upper groove) without damaging it? Thanks!

Bump!

Ok, I've got the new shocks and I've figured out how to adjust the height, but now I'm not sure if I should leave it at the factory setting or raise the ring to the next position? Also, what is the recommended adjustment for the shock itself for use with H&R on rear KONI's?

leave it at the factory setting, I just installed my H&R's on Koni yellows yesterday. It looks good with the clip left on the bottom

I can, if you want some I will take some. Do you just want pics of how the car sits or of the shock/perch?

I just finished the install but I used the upper perch. I'd really like to see some images of your car with the lower perch and I can take some of my car with the upper perch. I'd like to give it a day or two for the suspension to settle though.

Let me share with you why I decided to use the upper perch instead of the lower one. I took a measurement from the ground to the top of the rim at the front of the car and at the back of the car. Then I took a measurement of the clearance between the body of the car and the ground at the front and the rear of the car. I took this measurement from the top of the lower sill below the doors to the ground. What I found was that my front tires were compressed about .25" and that the body of the car at the rear was sitting lower than the body at the front by about .5 inches. Then I measured the difference in height between the lower perch and upper perch on the strut and realized it was just slightly over .5". So, I figured that if I used the upper perch that the car would actually sit level . . .

It would be awesome if you could take the same measurements on your car with the lower perch and let me know if the body at the rear is sitting at the same height as the body at the front . . .

I will take and post the pics in the morning. I think I might switch to the upper perch because my stereo makes the back sag a little
I would also like to see your pics

BTW how do you like the ride quality?

I just drove about 250 miles on the new rear suspension. In addition to the rear KONI H&R setup, I'm also running KYB GR2 shocks up front and I have a RSB (not the Stillen type). Overall, I am extremely impressed. The rebound damping is far better than the GR2's and the overall ride quality over bumps is very comfortable, never harsh, but very controlled. I think I might adjust the rebound damping a little higher, perhaps from 3 half turns to 4 half turns. The ride height is really nice. I think the car is now sitting a little like the Maxspeed springs make other Max's sit. The fender gap front and rear looks pretty much even from front to rear and the car is angled ever so slightly to the front. The sag is completely gone. Overall, I'm very pleased. I "might" change back to the lower perch. It would be great if we could compare pics. I'll try to take some tomorrow and post to my Cardomain site for you to reference. Please let me know when you get yours up too. Thanks!

I just dumped my Konis for some AGXs.... I dont know why people still buy them. I hate Koni shocks, after putting on the 4th set on the front of my car I said funk dat and I'm having a guy custom modiffy AGXs for the front now with shortened struts, and modified mounting bracket. This will alow me to use 4th gen Front AGX with more travel than stock suspesnion and I already have AGXs on the rear. Night and day diff in handling and ride stiffness vs Konis- and this is just with the rear shocks and 3 month old Konis up front....

Hey, I dont want to hear anything from you about car's. You dont know anything about car's or how to work on them. BTW my trans is leaking.

J/K.... let me know when you want to work on my car again and Koni's rule.

Because overall they're better than what you've experienced.

I haven't ridden on the AGX's, but these rear KONI's seem to ride much better than the GR2s I had previously. Rebound is much better controlled and the ride in back feels firm but still compliant and does a really good job of smoothing out minor roughness on the road. So far I like them. This is not to say that the AGX might not be better, I just don't know.
