Brembo Blanks and FR/RR stock Caliper Swap??

I got to thinking the other day....(dangerous, I know!)

I see alot of GD's on Brembo Blanks going on the GD forum.
Are these REAL??
Where can a guy pick-up a set of GENUINE no B.S. BREMBO BLANKS to fit OEM
brakes on a 2k2 fr/rr???
Does anyone KNOW a reputable dealer / retailer on the forum that sells these???
I'm growing leary of participating in GD's for 5% discounts when i can go to a direct retailer and not have all the hassle and worry of "will I ACTUALLy get them" and "are they real"??

Has ANYBODY replaced their stockers with BREMBO BLANKS and put any significant mileage on them to see if they REALLY DO hold-up better than the stock p.'s.o.s.??? I haven't heard it or read it yet....but SURELY it must be true.(?)

Issue # 2:

HAS ANYONE considered "UPGRADING" the rear brakes by taking a set of STOCK FRONT CALIPERS (with Brembo Blanks) and mounting them in the rear???
Perhaps it might be worth trying aftermarket FRONTS (calipers + rotors) with stock front calipers swapped to the REAR with Brembo Blanks?????

Granted 75% of the stopping force comes from the FRONT brakes, but I'm just curious if THIS would make a noticable difference for substantially LESS $$$ than a full upgrade???

I'm not even sure if this is realistic -- but to me, the cost of upgrading to an aftermarket BIG BRAKE kit is TOTALLY LUDICROUS given the relative declining value of our vehicles.
I mean c'MON -- $3k for new brakes and calipers???
That's almost 17% of my cars' TOTAL value right now....dam!!!

I hope this idea isn't as stupid as I think it sounds -- but it was just a thought.
Somebody with half a brain enlighten me.....!

Realistically - for the money....I'm going to buy fr/rr BREMBO BLANKS when the time finally comes (and it's CLOSE!) to ditch the stockers. It's the only thing that REALLy makes sense.

Well

One thing to consider on your idea is what to do about the parking brake?

But hey, necessity is the mother of invention.

I am sure you are goin to get a lot of "grief", but the PB is the only "known" thing that I can think of "outside" of the normal thinking (new bracket, testing location...blah blah blah)

As for the Brembos, from what I have read, I dont thing they are offered yet for 2K2-2k3. But I could be mis-informed.

I doubt moving front calipers to the rear would work. Besides the parking brake issue, I'm pretty sure the volume of the front calipers is much larger (larger piston and all), plus you'd need big shims to make up for the reduced rotor width. I'm not sure what the extra volume will do--possibly make the rear brakes even less effective since it's designed to push the smaller piston?
