8500k HID KIT

I purchased a HID kit off of custom maxima about 2 months ago and this past weekend the ballast burnt out. I called custom maxima and now they no longer carry this product. WTF???? They wont let me return it and they dont have anything to replace it with. I contacted the company that makes them and they told me it will take about a month to get a replacement cause they need to order it from china. So my $400 hid kit is now a paper weight. Does anyone have any ideas where i can get a ballast or how to fix them or anything? Any help would be much appreciated. But on a positive note Im gettin my aero kit painted and put on today so that puts me i a better mood!

Have you contacted Dave B on this one? He seems to be the resident guru on everything Maxima...
I wish I would point you in the right direction-just stay away from ebay aka theives' paradise unless you can authenticate and verify the source of replacement parts.

Ive had the kit for 2 months and I already paid for it. I thought that I would be ok considering that it is Custom Maxima that I bought the kit from but I guess I was wrong cause they stopped carring it.

that's just there customer service

Next time go with SouthWestAuto Works.

BTW- You can take CM to court. It's illegal to sell Retrofit HID kits now.

Tell them that and you will surely get your $ back

Yeah, it's probably illegal to buy them too. BTW, this is probably why they don't carry it any more....

8500k is pretty bright. You should be happy they burned out. You may have spent a jack load on tickets from the cops.

In New York its considered an equiptment violation. I have 24 hours to fix it and the ticket gets dismissed. Plus all the cops know me cause I have lived in this town all my life. In other towns thats a different story. They are really blue but I bought them not thinking about that. But for 400$ I still would use them even if I do get pulled over!

Hahaha, it feels good to have connections with the police, right? Admit it. I sure as hell will attest that I love the feeling.
