Anyone change out lights in climate control.

I'm trying to figure out hot is it possible to swap the little lights in the climate control to LED's. Has anyone done this? This is the only place I am having trouble with. I did my speedo and it looks pretty good. By the way would anyone be interested in buying the little plastic pieces which screw into the back of the speedo. I installed LED's with resistor in that little plastic piece. All you do is screw it in and that's it. If anyone's interested let me know.

I'm trynig to do this mod too after i done the doors and windows switchs.
I took the little lights in the climate control and mess with the bule condom around the lights, and the same for the head unit (Bose),and paint it with blue Sharpie (5 coats),but it look dark compair to the doors and windows switches.

Then i found 3mm led white 1000 mcd ,and i'm working on it .When i have time.Working a lot.

By the way ,i'm interested in the speedo mod but do you have pics of it?

yeah....i used basic 7000mcd led's.....i used round ones and shaved off the top (creates more of a scatter than a single point) i soldered the led's right onto the climate control unit. it was a PITA. but it worked. the controls seriously light up a good 10x's as bright as stocks. since then one of the led's got loose, so 1 and 2 dont' light up but 3 and 4 do. just need to fix that. but it is a working success.

Did you have to solder a resistor in line, or did you just solder the led straight to the board?

I'll post pics when I finish and get everything how I want it. I even put a black LED light to illuminate the little box that displays the mileage. Looks realy good. IMO This miniature soldering is really time consuming but worth it after looking at what I did.

The little lights were pretty tight I had to put a resistor on each one. But now I've got it down and I can do them pretty quick. I may try and sell them on the .Org if people are interested.
