How to get inside dash to replace stereo?

I was just wondering if anyone knew where I could find instructions on how to install an aftermarket stereo into a 5th gen.

I checked the Audio FAQ and this FAQ, but some of the links are dead and I can't seem to find specific instructions for 5th generations.

It also doesn't help that the search is disabled.

I found some instructions... But any tips on how to remove that center vent? On this maxima it seems to be really stuck in there! Pulling as hard as I can, that vent is not coming loose.

Ah. center Vents...

I learnt this from an .Orger, PULL UP and toward yourself at a 45 degree angle, the first time you remove it, it will be a b**ch to remove. I have tried and worried about breaking the damn thing. Rest assured it will work

Good luck.

I had a link with detailed pictures on how to do this but now it has turned into a pay per view site. You have to pay like $4.99 just to view how to remove your HU...WTF! The 1st time removing the center ducts is a pain in the a$$ but it will come out as the last guy mentioned. Your next hurdle is the 8 or so screws holding your HU to the bracket. Be sure to use something with lots of torque. I stripped all but a couple of mine and had to drill the rest out.

Riskable,

If you really interested in using that PPV site, it's this one here:
http://www.carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalNisMax3.htm

like SEDaveMax stated, it "used" to be a free site with pictures outlining the removal of your HU and climate control.
