Maxima Hood Shield

I was wondering if nissan makes a hood shield(stone and bug deflector) for the 2001 max. Does anyone have a good one from another company. I dont want to get anymore chips in the hood. How does it hook onto the hood? Can it be taken off easily so i can wax it. Thanx

Hey BostonMax,
I bought and installed the "Bugdeflector II" on my 03' SE last fall and I beleive it's the same one for your year. It went on great, fits great, and I did not have to use the optional screws. As long as you clean the contact areas well, all you'll need to use is the adhesive spots already part of the shield. It held up great over the winter and I got only 1 new chip in the hood from debris. It also really helps to keep the bugs off the windshield in summer as well.

The smoked color looks great against my Titanium color too.

I recommend it!

with new question.

What do you recommend for a hood deflector for an '02 Nissan Maxima?

Any pics would be appreciated as well.

Link to the WeatherTech site to see it installed:

Another option you might want to consider is the clear bra.

I have the Bugdeflector II on my car. http://members.cardomain.com/popomax The only trouble I have is that it was making a small rough patch on the top of my Grille. Easy fix though I just used one of the clear Bump-ons supplied with the kit.

I would go with the clear bra, protects the paints finish. The bugdeflector does look good on a black car though IMO

The Company is Autoventshade. I ordered mine from Autozone but most Automotive supply shops should have them. It was like $40 if I remember correctly.
