Insurance Rates

Hi,

Is there a big insurance difference between 4th and 5th gen maxima's? I am considering getting a 2002 6sp but don't want my insurance rates to sky rocket.

Thanks

NOPE. I had a 95 5 speed Max. New 2k2 6 speed is only about $20 more a year for same coverages.

It all depends on who you are covered by and what type of coverage you have. I had a 3rd gen and my dad had a 4th gen. When I got my new 5th gen 2k My insurance went up $110. If my dad would have done it under his it would have gone up $60.

We both have State Farm full coverage

I have a 2k maxima, and when the lease is up in a couple of months I'm getting a Dodge Durango Limited with the Hemi engine. I thought it would be MUCH more to insure, but keeping the same coverage my insurance is going up a total of $80 per year.

My point is that the Maxima might have a higher than average insurance cost. The vehicle we're looking at buying is about 7k more than the Max we're getting rid of and has 100 more horsepower, and it's nearly the same price.
