Trouble Code Assistance
Hey Everyone,
I've had my maxima for about 4 years now with no problems. Then suddenly my service engine soon light came on. I had a reading done at autozone with their scantool and the following codes came up:
- P1320: IGNITION SYSTEM OR MISFIRE
- P0505: IDLE CONTROL SYSTEM MALFUNCTION
- P0160: BANK 2 SENSOR 2 (CKT-NO ACTIVITY)
- P0505: IDLE CONTROL SYSTEM MALFUNCTION
Unfortunately, I don't know what any of this means so I'm in desperate need of help from you guys here. If you know what any of these problems are and know a solution to them I would greatly appreciate your feedback.
Thanks.

P0505: IACV valve
P0160: Rear O2 sensor malfunction
This is a start, where you may want to check.

Just a suggestion. If you have a 2000 and have never changed the coils, I would start there first. The coils were bad in the 2000 and IMO you should replace all six.
Then reset the ECU to clear all the codes. (Keep the battery neg off for 1 hour and press the brake to drain residual current.)
With nice new coils, see how the car runs and see if any codes return.

Trouble Code Assistance Follow-up
Thanks Guys,
I appreciate the immediate responses from those who were more knowledgeable on the problem than I was. I had the car checked at the dealership and the problems were exactly what you had all mentioned to me. Unfortunately, Nissan wanted a fortune to do the repairs. I then decided to purchase one of those Hayne's manuals from autozone in order to learn how to fix the necessary repairs. It was one of the greatest investments I could have made in a book. I then decided to purchase the parts and work on it myself this weekend. Once again, thanks for your support and keep up the good work.
