Mushy Brakes

I recently had to get my rear pads replaced after 70K miles. I ordered some ceramic akebono ones from tire rack. When the car guy took apart the brakes and turned the rotors he informed me that new calipers would be needed for the rear also. I understand that there may be some squealing with ceramics but now when I brake, the pedal is mushy and I have to put it almost to the floor. The brakes work but I don't remember them being so mushy. The car guy was without an answer. Any advice besides a new car guy?

Simple -- he didn't bleed the brakes properly and there's air in the line or caliper.
