Gas Saving Mods?
Take all of the lead out of your right foot. If you just love the sound of your intake remove it for a while. Most of the mods that increase performance also increase MPG when you take it easy. If your in a MT the shift at or under 3k, ride in 5th, or 6th when ever possible even at 45MPH.
In an Auto just keep it in drive and let it shift earlier than you normally do.
For all cars keep your speeds under 80 on the hwy.
You will really see your MPG go way up if you do this. Yes it's tough to drive the car this way but it's either that or keep returning to the pump more often.
So the best mod for better MPG is you. Mod the way you drive...

whats the point in spending $ on modding, if you are so concerned with gas prices? i just can't do it. i need to feel the pull, the growl. if i can't afford gas, i will buy a rickshaw...
3 simple gas saving mods for everyone:
1) Cut fuel to two of your cylinders, so you are only running a 4.
2) Put a wooden block behind the gas pedal so you can only accelerate, say, at 1/3 throttle.
3) Put on the parking brake and leave it there. Take the bus or ride your bicycle.

To really beat the gas prices I'm looking for a nice 84 Dodge Rampage converted to the "T2" engine..2.2 turbo 4cyl. 174hp/210tq stock in a 2200 lbs vehicle and I would have to raise the boost from 11psi to 15psi creating about that much at the wheels if not more. I should get easy 40mpg on the highway and be able to run low 13s/highs 12s at the track.
My bro has the same setup in his 89 Shelby Daytona which weighs 3100lbs. He and my dad drove to michigan last week for a tranny. Round trip 1100 some miles average speed 76mph gas mileage 34.5mpg

..........and to get better mileage, let off the gas... if you spend $100 on a mod that saves 5% in mileage (and that's a HUGE savings, believe it or not) it'll take years to recoup the original $100 investment.

Ohio 93 = 2.13/Gallon (depending on day of week)
Max = 25MPG
VFR = 40-45MPG (Depending on how hard I crack my right wrist)
VFR paid off....yup....thats the daily driver...has been since 99. hehehe.
To save gas and more fuel efficient:
Clean out the trunk
Take out the jack and spare tire
Remove the back seat and passenger
Refill 5 gallon at a time, not full tank
Don't carry any passenger
Than you should be fine. :-)

Best Iv'e seen is 1.86 for 91, and there has been another jump since then...

93 is 1.89
91 is 1.79
I think 93 is a waste of money.

Oh wait, you're from Baltimore... you'd probably get it jacked, at least until the thieves BELIEVE in your crowbar to their head
