Front Strut Bearing

I've got a feeling that my right front strut bearing might be bad. Does anyone have a pic of this bearing? Also, if I drop the strut/spring, where exactly is it located?

I've got some free time finally and need to get in there and find out what's going on.

Thanks

the front strut bearing looks like a plastic black and grey( at least for mine when i bought a new one) doughnut....

If you jack up the car, you can see the bearing, it sits ontop of the spring. if you look for it itll most likely be black due to dirt and stuff...

Nissan decided to cheap out on the quality and made it out of plastic, so its prone to breaking off.. mine broke off after i got my springs installed, everytime i turned my wheel, it will make bink noises...

Well, I do get some humming, but I'm more concerned with the erratic steering. At anything less than highway speeds, the car tracks pretty straight. As speed increases, the steering gets a bit jumpy on bumps and the car either tracks to the left or right (predominantly to the left). I've had the alignment checked by both Nissan and an independent.

For what the strut bearings cost (roughly $30 for both L&R), I figured that I'd give it a shot.

So, with that, does anybody have any idea?

Where are our resident spring/strut gurus?

Teddibear,

Thanks for the response, man. You must have posted while I was editing. As for the install, all that I need to do is drop the strut/spring combo, correct? I'm at work and don't have the time right now to go out and look for myself. I assume that there is no need to break out the spring compressors.

Thanks again man.
