anyone think i should enter in a car show or magazine? i'm getting a few performance mods done soon and i now have my new system w/ a tv and my ps2...i wouldn't mind making some money...and since maxima's aren't like honda's, i can be in some sort of rarely customized division or something...what does everyone think? should i give it a shot?

Don't take any offense to this...
& I'm not claiming that my car's anything special...
but realistically, you've got a long way to go to be magazine quality...
unless you're happy with Reader's Ride's.
and as far as showing goes you might do OK in the mild classes...& you're not going to make any substantial coin by winning a show...
also, dont be fooled...there are PLENTY of wild Maximas on the show scene....Max.org only represents a very small percentage of the actual Maxima Enthusiasts around the country...
Sorry if this puts a damper on your plans...just issuing a friendly reality check.

i realize that, but the actual number of 5th generation maximas that are into the import scene is very few...have you looked at the magazines lately? the readers ride section (i wouldn't mind being in that actually) has cars w/ almost nothing done to them usually...i know at this moment i don't have a whole lot done, but i am getting my y pipe done tuesday, a full stainless steel custom exhaust from cattman done next week and my rsb and fstb next week...after that i will probably get wheels and then i will probably save for a level 10 tranny...but i will have the other 4 mods done very soon (and my rstb is expected to be in my car in about 8 weeks)...i have my new full system...take a look at readers rides...i admit my car may not yet be enough to be a full feature in a magazine, but it is much more than most readers rides...the number of maximas in the import scene are so few compared to the number of civic and accord owners...a lot of magazines like to change things up from the normal honda features by putting in an rx7 sometimes and i have seen a feature on a sentra w/ nitrous and a s/c and rims and thats it...i'm just saying that it is entirely possible to be in a magazine...how often do you see a maxima in a magazine other than the turbo magazine project maxima and a couple other project maximas...i have never seen one that had anything done to it other than the project cars from the actual magazines

i'm just saying that i think its possible because of the lack of other maximas...and there are probably under 5 people in the world w/ my bodykit

Agreed. Your car is definetly Reader Ride quality. This months SCC has a fricken Mercury Tracer w/ ugly rims and an exhaust sytem and some other crap. The car is dead ugly! You could definetly help the Maxima Aftermarket w/ a Readers Ride. You could show the world what can be done to a max. Oh yeah, have you seen what it takes to get in Stupid Street??? A few months back they had a Blue Si on the cover that doesnt touch your ride. He only has a PSX in ther to boot. The thing is though, you dont have stickers my man. I know stickers are ghetto, but have you seen a Car in a magazine that doesnt have some sort of sticker? Go for it. I could tell all my friends "I know that guy! I bought his clear sidemarkers!" I tend to disagree with the others. You have a good chance. For the readers rides, dont forget "Thanks to Maxima.org for making this possible!"

stickers...stickers are the key...i know before i send in any shots though i'm defenitely going to slap on a big www.speedoptions.com sticker so i can get some money...what other companies offer money for having their sticker on your car when its in a magazine?

i used to be into stickers when my car was basically stock...when my car was lowered and had a system i was still really into stickers...reason: i couldn't get anyone to race me w/ my stock max unless i had my system blasting...and even then it was tough to find races...so w/ the stickers all these people saw me...now that i have the kit, i am noticed all the time and i no longer have to look for races, they kinda come to me...also, being sticker free shows that you actually do everything yourself...having stickers kinda shows that you might have been sponsored or something

i forgot, but did u get wheels yet? if no then dont' if yes then go for it. how well is your trunk displayed? if it's just a "loose" box and an amp tacked to the back of your seats then that's not gonna raise a single eyebrow.. your kit is a major plus, but it definately is nothing more than a kit. sorry if i sound harsh but i've also considered publicity for my max in the near future, looking at wut i plan to have i still say i'm a long way from being a feature car.
