more VIDEOS of my car Part II

Alright, You know the Maxima. Time for it to be humbled. After we beat Andre's Stang GT, he brought his friend out tonight to get revenge.

The victim: 2k2 Maxima w/ CAI and 18" SSRs.
The winner: Mach One Mustang w/ Mak Offroad X-Pipe exhaust, Nitto DR's, dynoed 290 whp.
Camera car: 1997 BMW M3 w/ Benfer Racing CAI.
I knew this would happen but I ran for fun and got pulled to the tune of 4-5carlengths or so. I looked up online, and apparently those Mach One's have been hitting some nice times. This LINK says 13.1 @ 107mph stock

Anyways here are the vids, we ran it well past 120mph.

Stoplight You can see remnants of the huge smokey burnout the Mach 1 did before he lined up for the stoplight run, lol.

1st Gear Roll

Enjoy

You know it's cool that you went down to the Mach 1 Mustang. It was suppose to happen. This is something you should give your friend . Next time tell him to take it like a man. Are cars race better against the GT rather than the Mach 1. The Mach 1 should be racing the evo's and wrx's not us.

That's ok O, you're boy had to go and get his big brother (the car) in order to beat you, kinda sounds like Wladimir Klitschko, who had to go get his big brother Vitali Klitschko to beat the guys that beat him.

Hey, question, that isn't a stock Mach One is it?

What are on those Mach's as stockers and what kinda hp are they running?

No his wasn't stock. The new mach1's are, what i like to think of them as, an 2001 cobra (without the IRS) on smack. Theyve got the 32v twincam motors. Rated at 305hp and 320trq at ~3400lbs with 3.55 gearset. So with this guy makin 290rwhp thats roughly... what 340hp? It was pretty quick. His setup would be good for high 12s.

The vids should be using the Divx codec. try downloading them at divx.com or somewhere.
-
And no, I sold the old motor a while ago.

Stock Mach 1s run mid-13s, if I'm not mistaken.

I figured they ran as quick as low 13s; the only new Stangs 3.5L Maximas can typically run with are Auto GTs and of course the V6s.

For modern OBD cars, Stangs seem to be SOOOO easy to modify and make faster.

Autos arent the only Mustangs we can beat. Apparently by SmokinO's vids the 3.5 Max can spank a 5SPD 2002 Mustang GT too.

props to you smokin. Most guys who race and lose always give excuses. I'm like you and don't mind losing no matter what the reason.

Nice vids!!

i do.

because people like these guys are the idiots who try to race me on a street.

these are the guys who usually can't drive and when placed in an emergency situation (ie. someone pulling out in front of them during their Fast and Furious race), lose control and kill people.

these are the type of guys who have killed a friend of mine, because they couldn't take it to a drag strip...

So, bottom line, street racers .shaking head. They have drag strips for a reason.

I'm truly sorry about the loss of your friend and I wouldn't have said what I said to you if you had pointed that out in your first post.

That said, I myself don't condone street racing, but the underlying point of my original comment is that many people make comments about how bad street racing is(which I agree with) but at the same time we're all buying cars with 250+ HP(a main selling point for most-myself included) and some are modding them up to have even more power and go faster yet come in here and speak against street racing at the same time when the truth is they bought the car to blow away the car in the next lane. It's complete hipocrisy 99% of the time. Those are the people I was to which I was referring.

The biggest difference between our Maxes and other comparable cars like Camry and Accord is the motor. I'll bet that if Toyota came out with a Camry that made 350HP for say $25,000 alot of people around here would consider it for their next car-I would. If people on this forum didn't feel so strongly about the great performance ithe VQ produces, they would be just fine driving one of those other cars.

i understand that point and in my case, i only choose the maxima for a few reasons:

1. brother had one, he liked it.
2. had good passing power
3. not many people had them
4. cheap
5. for the second time around, i had parts laying around that i couldn't sell which were maxima specific.

I'm all for racing... but, that's why drag strips and race tracks were made.
