Heres a silly question :P

I was looking thru a JEG's magazine, that only had stuff for Domestic cars :P.
and there was a couple pages dedicated to built engines. Now i know that honda has a few options for high power engine swaps, but has anyone tried swapping a different engine into our car? Like a small V8 or a massive V6, I know the VQ is great, and mighty but with some work and relocation in the engine bay, could something else fit?

I'm not sure about Maximas but I know you can put Mustang V8 on a Miata.

If you got the money, I'm sure it can be done.

v8 miatas - there is a whole group dedicated to that and you can buy the swap out kit for $12,000. I know on the older z's people have swapped out thier v's for LS1. The closes swap I can think of was when someone put a 3.5 into 2k or 2k1. Whats undergoing to testing is the prototype stroker engine so look out for that.

But as Ammi said, money is your only limitation.

OK. I dont really know of any V6 that is not exotic that produces more horsies than the VQ that is also NA. we do not even need to get started on NA versus FI because we could just build a bad A$$ turbo system for any VQ for $12,000.

Just spend the cash on a S/C or turbo setup. JEG's is mostly known for the domestics as you mentioned, but per their website www.jegs.com they now have a Sport Compact section as well, but the engines they offer are mainly for the domestics. Like I said, buy the S/C and put the other $9k towards a street car if you want a V-8. You can find some nice pro-street or pro-strip cars for that price and you can still drive your nice Maxima everyday and get great gas mileage like we all do
