rust on the edge of the hood

When I waxed my car earlier today, I noticed that at the very edge of the hood, there is a chip about 3mm in diameter, and it is rusting a bit, should i sand it and use touchup paint to cover it up ? since it is so tiny, how can i sand it ?

Thanks for any ideas.

Cheers

if you only have 1 chip that's rusting, consider yourself lucky...I have a ton of them I've had to fix.

well... i did patch all the chips on the hood as soon as i see them, none went as deep to the primer i guess.

around the rear wheel area, on the inner edge, there is a big patch of rust too, that one should be easy, i will just sand it then repaint it, it is such a pain to live in toronto where they use too much salt, grrrr...

thanks dba for the pointer. will do a search on to locate houecor site, ciao.
