you have a blk on blk 6-speed max and you want to sell it? That's the max that alot of people want but can't find......
Let's see, you're selling the max....so if you get rid of the SE-R and get a Z, you will be severely limited when having to carry any cargo, friends, etc.....
unless you have another car.
Why not sell the 12-year old SER, not get a 10-year old Z....and invest some $$ in making your 2-year old maxima totally bada s s ....

there is no way I am getting rid of the SE-R, not under any circumstance. I am going to keep the SE-R for at least 14 years (when my 1 year old kid is 15 he can have it)
If I get a Z, it will be to complement the SE-R.
here's another version of the options,
Drive JUST the SE-R
Drive the Maxima and the SE-R
Drive a 300ZX and the SE-R
I can't invest any money into making the Maxima totally bada s s. Unless I change the suspension in the rear...
It's just not as fun to drive as the SE-R. It will only be a "straight line" performer.
I'm selling it also because I financed $33,000 on it when I bought it ($28,000 for the car, and $5,000 in negative equity from my old 1998 Maxima)
I'm tired of making car payments. I enjoy the SE-R. I don't need the Maxima. After driving it back to back with the SE-R, I really don't want it either.
It isn't as smooth as a highway driver should be, and considering how choppy the ride is, you'd expect great handling...well, the handling isn't all that great.
The shifting sucks (IMO) I HATE the drive-by-wire with a passion...My favorite Maxima is the 1994 SE 5 speed. I guess I'm old school, but Nissan doesn't make 'em like they used to.

Seriously, a 2 door coupe hatchback sports car is REALLY impractical. I bought a second car to play with, a tiny MR2 turbo, and I tell you, if I didn't still have my Maxima I'd be totally screwed. Trust me on this one about the space issue.
Sell the Sentra and build up the Maxima. You have a VERY sweet OEM package, what I was looking for but could not find in the western united states. A few bolt ons, header, exhaust, intake (Berk Tech of course
, pulleys, and you've got some decent power. A mild suspension build up and you are good to go.
Besides, you can make that 300ZX TT a potent performer, but that car is a major PITA to work on. Did you know that you have to pull the motor to get to the turbos? And those turbo's will be on their way out in the next few years. Just my .02 cents.

Stateline Nissan was going to give me $18,700 on a TRADE, and the vehicle I was getting was only $500 over invoice, so it's not like they were working it into the price somehow.
I looked on autotrader, and 2k3 Maxima's are going for $22,000 in my area.
considering it's a hard to find "black on black" 6 speed with HLSD, Titanium, etc...
I'm sure I'll find someone to pay over $20,000 for it.

^^^ 3 posts above...
I can buy a $8,000 300ZX and drive my SE-R and live here: http://www.jright.net/aspen_vr.htm
or I can drive the Maxima and live with my in-laws...ok, so I'm only living with my in-laws until this house is finished, but damn I can't wait until it is...

According to NADA (what the banks use and by far the most accurate), a 2003 Maxima SE ($19325) with leather (+$575), BOSE (+$400), moonroof (+$775), manual transmission (-$625), and 30K miles (-$275) located in the Midwest region has a retail value of $20,175. So your asking price of $21,950 is quite a bit off. Are you pricing to sell, break even, or come out on top?
Dave
I registered here because I was looking to replac my 1994 Mercedes with a Maxima, but then decided not too. Well, I may be back in the market for a used Maxima (since I dont like the new ones). I have been doing my homework, and as someone currently "in the market," I can say you are asking way too much for oyur car. Its nice and all, but I would rather pay that for a 2004 3.5L Altima than a used Maxima with over 30k miles. Just giving you the reflection of someone looking for a used Maxima. If you were asking $18k, I would think about calling you to negotiate, but at over $20k I wouldnt even bother doing that.

I decided not to get a Titan, or any new car for that matter.
about the price, I owe $23,500 on the car, so I'm not pricing it to come out on top, or to "sell".
I'm just pricing it so I don't completely lose my a$$ on the deal.
I think there is bound to be someone out there who REALLY wants a black on black leather 6 speed Maxima with everything but navigation system.
I just have to find that person. If I don't, I can just keep the car.

I also sold cars for a while too (Nissan Factory Certified Sales Rep back in the day). I know how they can "get" you.. and I know how to avoid being "got".
I don't get hit with bad financing...Never have, never will.
If they tried to give me a high interest rate, I would just go to my own bank. I have a great relationship with them. It's that simple. I know I have a good credit rating, (near 700 beacon score) and I know I deserve the best rates out there. You can keep coming up with reasons on how you think I was getting ripped off, but I'll have a comeback for everything.
Stateline tried that on me when I bought my first car from them, but when I left and came back with a loan from my bank they haven't done it since. I have been doing business for a while, and the only other dealer I'd do business with in KC is O'neill on 80th and Metcalf. The thing is, O'neill's service department isn't as good as Stateline's, and Stateline is easier to get to from my house.
McCarthy Nissan is the dealer I won't go near.. I like to call them "McCAR-THEIF"

I've noticed that the more detailed the add, the quicker the car sells. I'd ask $21,000 obo and take anything over $20,000. Kelly Blue Book and NADA both say your asking price $21,900 is too high.

These motors can go 200-300K with no problems, but the fact is your 03 is slightly out of range for miles therefore you'll get dinged. 98% of the potential buyers will give you this face
when you tell them the car has HLSD. Since it's not listed as an option in NADA, they won't want to pay for it. I truely hope you get what you want for the car and the buyer may be waiting for the car to appear. I've tracked overpriced Maximas (and other cars) in the Star and they just linger on, but the ones that have a realistic asking price are gone in 2-3 days.

Thats a tuff answer, deciding on the Z or the max. I had a 91 TT and loved it. I put 3,500 dollars into and was pushing 440hp give or take. Your not gonna get that kind of return on a Max, i'll tell u that. But the Z also has its disadvantages, expensive parts and labor. God forbid a turbo goes....your gonna pay out of ur *** in parts and labor. Not to mention u have to drop the engine to do it. Even though mine only had 39,000 miles on it, I still got rid of it...too expensive to maintain and gas was killing me, not to mention the $13,000 I was offered for it. You could literally watch the needle go down has you got on the car. I would say, **** it, buy it....get it out of your system....I did...I kind of like having the four doors now, but I sure miss having the T-Tops off and blowing just about every car on the road, away.... By the way, i have pics on my webpage if you want to see...
if you are a former used car salesman...you should know that your HSLD doesnt mean jack when trading in your car...in fact 90% of the options dont really matter on a used car. Its the car itself.
Still its a nice car and all, but i too agree on the "gotten" part
