Complete audio system removal/Install... Pics
I had another thread in here talking about what I was about to do, but i made this thread for all the pics. i took over 40 pictures during the install, so i will most likely not post them in the thread, but rather provide a link to my car domain page.
the install was kind of a PITA, it took me about 14 hours to complete the job. (with only a 10 minute lunch break, and some cig breaks.)
the job was rather big, so i was getting overwhelmed sometimes, but i had many obstacals. first thing were the doors, i couldn't get them off! i pulled with all my my weight on it, and nothing budged. i had to stick a screewdrive in the small hole and pry it open for all 4 doors. but that was the least of my problems...
the front speakers i bought had huge magnets, and a huge case. there was no way they would fit. (either in the plastic peice, or not) i had to do some custom work to make them fit, and they were still close. so that was the problem with the fron doors...
now, the piliars... i wanted to put my tweets in there, but once again, would not fit. (with the supplyed mounting brackets) so i had build special mounting brakets made of plastic, i used a heat gun to bend it, and mold it to the tweet itself and the pilliar, and screewed it in... and also used a bit of double sided tape for added security.
also, the rear speakers are 5 1/2's... i had to make 6.5 speakers fit. this was surprizingy easy... but still somewhat of a pain. so that is all the "hang ups" i experianced. the first door took the longest... which was about 2.5 hours. just simply because i didn't want to ruin the door, i didn't know the ropes to the door, and i had to figure out how to make the speaker fit.
well, thats all, i will give high res pics soon! (i get out of work at 9pm)

Man front doors are the easiest I've ever had to pop off-
1-Remove plastic round clip(remove screw)at beginning of door
2-Remove pastic clip by handles
3-Pullup/Pop out door power controls/handle strip and unplug-Remove screw first
4-Get a grip underneath and at door control strip opening and yank in upward direction-pops right off

Thanks guys...
dba1999us - there is nothing special for the wiring, since i am building a custom trunk next week. i just wanted to take one step at a time. i am running to home depot to pick up the remaining supplys needed to make my amp rack/trunk.
i will be sure to post pics as soon as it is done. the subs are not all crooked! they are tilted in a uniform fashion! lol. i had to do it... when i was screewing them in, the crappy screews i used broke off in the box, and i was unable to get them out. so i had to tilt the sub so i could use diffrent holes to drill into... does that make sense? ![Frown](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
blubyu2k2 - yes, i am rather good friends with ethan, but he has not stopped by in a while in exception to two days ago. he is too involved with his job now a days, and he also moved further away, so it makes it harder for him to stop by/or go on the org. good eye by the way....![Smilie](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
BLACK2000 - yes, the deck is very good, i have the alpine 7995 model, which has no internal power... just a very clean signal. sound amazing with my speakers. also, the model has cd text... very cool feature, and of course MP3.![Smilie](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

nice install. i was 99% sure the rears were 6.5's. maybe with bose they are 5.25? and also what kind of tweeter mounting did you do? because all i did was take off the old metal mount and place the new one where the bracket used to be. i also like the metra dash kit! nice and cheap.

thanks. nope, the rears were 5 1/2. kind of odd if you ask me. as for the tweeter, there was no way it would fit with the provided mounting braket, so i had to make a braket to support the tweet. you can see pics on the link i provided. the dash kit looks ok, but installing was rather odd.it did't really fit perfectly... but good enough.
